Yes, it was a call to consider mental disabilities to be equally bad rear end as a lost arm. *edit* doverhog has a new favorite as of 08:58 on Jan 14, 2018 |

Shifty Nipples posted:Just wanna say that I really appreciate the posts in this thread of people with disabilities (I don't know if losing an arm is a disability but I'll just assume it is for this post), it feels a lot better to see folks referred to as bad rear end than them being laughed at. Sorry about your nipples

It's a fair point. What if in fact I am the autistic one? In that case I would still want you to consider it a bad rear end disability like a lost arm or whatever. doverhog has a new favorite as of 15:52 on Jan 14, 2018 |

Ooof, that push to line up the elbow. Having been on the receiving end of well thrown elbow, that girl has all my respect for not crumpling like a wet napkin. I've been hit in the face by a bat, and getting caught with an elbow strike rang my bell waaaaaaay worse than that.

I don't get in fights and don't plan to, or want to, but if one was thrust upon me I intend to clinch, push to the nearest wall, and elbow until the fight ends.

Pull their shirt over their head and just throw nonstop uppercuts. Hockey fighting works in street fights extremely well.

Table Mountain is a weird hike in that my group of friends aren't like, out of shape or anything, but we were exhausted when we got to the top (thanks, altitude sickness), while this pair of women with their dogs passed us by like it was a Sunday stroll for them. loving mountain people and their lungs. The video misses the worst part of the hike, this giant rear end field of rocks right before the peak. Like it's not terribly unstable, but after hiking a good number of miles and up some number of thousands of feet to the extent where I had to stop every 3-4 feet to catch my sea level living breath, this field loving sucked.

Malachi Constant posted:Honestly, it's one of the more realistic depictions of spaceship fights, assuming that there are inertial engines that accelerate at a tremendous rates. The fleets spend hours accelerating toward each other across a solar system and the actual combat happens over about a tenth of a second. The most destructive force is nukes detonating at relativistic velocities so that they hit the enemy ships as high energy gamma rays. Eventually FTL sensors come into play which is dubious, but I admit that the scene where the Grayson Navy launches their completely unexpectedly massive missile salvo toward the enemy still leaves me verklempt. "For Honor, and no quarter!". Yes I really am the dork I was pretending to be.

That youtube channel has a ton of vintage documentaries like that. This one about making fine Wedgewood china is hilarious: "This craftsman is using an original lathe to turn his piece. He could use an electric motor to power it but he prefers to make an old woman turn it manually." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDDBQh8YpfA

The outcome was obvious from the start, Japan has its share of problems but a fear of venomous sea creatures is not one of them.
