When I was at art college I had the distinction of being the only person on the fashion module to never thread as much as a single needle or sow a single stitch. I stapled all the 'clothes' I made with a stapler and said in my presentation it was a commentary on our 'throw away culture' and the disposable of modern fashion. I got really good marks for it and the tutors nodded sagely. In reality I just could not be arsed sewing poo poo, I wanted to do graphic design not that crap.

I remember the gnashing and wailing by grognards in the face of reasonable logic which was essentially 'we want everyone to share the same background sim'. Hmmm, maybe it was funnier thinking about it, people lost their poo poo for literally no good reason until the one thing they could latch on to (I HAVE BAD BROADBAND IN KENTUCKY GRRRRR) brought the last remaining few together in what can only be described as the saddest self help group of all time.

It is one of those things that always amazes me that art is so, so, so subjective. True story: Many years ago one of my friends - long story short, he was an artist and even got some gallery exhibitions later in his career - before dying in a car crash in Ibiza way too young - drove a red car into the sea, in Ibiza, deliberately (it was a rental and not his). We were all, like, WTF dude. His answer was: Red Car, Blue Sea! It's ART. Hard to argue with really e- details Galarox fucked around with this message at 23:48 on Jan 16, 2018 |

Galarox posted:Ok so - Goons who know better please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the whole offline/online thing with ED was resolved ages and ages ago after it caused a lot of stink and a lot of refunds when they said that offline wouldn't be part of the final product. How does this clown not know this? I believe about 5 years ago before ED was going to release they advised they had to drop offline because of how the game actually works. I believe they also didn’t have Solo play in, or were developing it, but there were people in places that had terrible internet or pay per use internet who were very upset. Frontier did not handle things well, but eventually gave people refunds for the issue. However it’s been half a decade, ED is not only pretty old on PC but has also been released on consoles. It’s pretty much the golden standard to ooh and ahh for a VR introduction. It’s getting old and I don’t think anybody today still considers it “a scam”. Maybe getting close to “old” but not a scam. Meanwhile during this time, Star Citizen was in pre-alpha. My goodness how time has slipped by and look at the progress “not a scam” Star Citizen has made.

Kinda precisely my point (I was hoping my memory hadn't misconstrued events as I remembered them).
