What is going on in this picture?

A roommate of a friend of mine boiled an egg and then forgot about it in the back of her fridge for months. The result: a perfectly desiccated hard boiled egg, emphasis on "hard."

I'd try it

Had the Brownie Batter one at a party recently. There were graham crackers set out for the dipping. It was loving delicious. Would again in an instant.

As far as cheesecakes go, unbaked cheesecake is made by people who are overwhelmingly lazy and/or poo poo in the kitchen. Bake it, like God intended.

But can't they call it "Pleased by Hummus" or "Not Underwhelmed by Hummus" or "Not Disappointed in This Here Hummus" or just anything else? I've rarely been delighted by hummus, as much as I like it.

Speaking of which, my friend brought hummus to my birthday party last weekend and said, "This is my special recipe where I don't use any tahini!" It's a new friendship, so I don't know if this is a warning sign or not.

It took me a while to work out what was going on in this photo

“How do you get live fish that are pre-cooked? Is this one of those octopus-acid dishes? Why would you try this with goldfish, who the gently caress eats goldfish? And why is this afp, prawn cocktail is a thing”

And then four train stops later, I see the fish.

That's exactly what's wrong with it. It's entirely for novelty factor/getting shares on Facebook when baking some of those things that long will make them dry and gross, or probably burned and inedible in the case of the chocolate. If you've made all that poo poo separately then just bake it separately and cut it into little bits and fit them together.

Go put a cup of cookie dough in the oven for an hour and tell me if you like what comes out

Babish made a burrito with an absurd number of meats and that was his result: mixing a wide variety of things and trying to cook them together ends up with a miserable mix of over- and undercooked ingredients.

I don't often see him say his work is outright horrible, but he did say that about the All-Meat Burrito. (And I mean, he made the thing from the Taco Town commercial and liked it!)

Would.

Apparently the Tide pods thing is now a challenge among teens like the cinnamon challenge, which is horrifying.

There's nothing wrong with a no bake cheesecake, both have their place. My missus makes a mean malteser cheesecake, no bake. Just cream cheese and a lot of mixing with relevant ingredients

I made a no bake off some tasty video that was a triple chocolate nutella one and it was super rich but also v good

You do not have to be good. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
I was having a rough afternoon with the kiddo and my friends offered me some local Chinese takeout from a place we both like. It’s one of those places in the international district that serves cold beef tendon rather than General Tso’s chicken. They brought me fried rice, egg flower soup, and cold chicken.

That’s my favorite thing about Babish videos. He’s a phenomenal chef, but if a recipe is basically non-viable or if he hates it (like his perfect Turkish delight that he didn’t enjoy at all) he doesn’t bullshit you about it.
