Hawkeye kinda did this? Except the the speech just said “more French? Maybe something else?” because Clint is dumb.

I'd still rather read ridiculous accents than whatever you call the way Warlock spoke.

You should go back and read Excalibur in the 90s, you get accents from Moira, Pete Wisdom, Nightcrawler, Rahne Sinclair, Colossus, and sort-of-halfway-almost Warlock speak from 'Douglock'.

One of the best issues was 91 where the team goes to a pub.

The main difference between that and whatever mangled bullshit Claremont claims is Irish or Scottish or whatever is that Grant Morrison is writing his local accent and actually knows what it sounds like. Which still looks mental written on a page, but it's authentically mental.

The in-world justification is that their uniforms are ridiculous to make normal people uncomfortable to make it easier for them to be overlooked.

but also yes and The Filth is weird as gently caress and you should probably read it because it's pure unfiltered Grant Morrison in its worst (and therefore best) form

Hm, I'll give Chameleon a break since he's Russian that maybe he doesn't know what Cajun is and thinks it's supposed to be French.

That whole story has the Chameleon getting dunked on in terms of fooling Spider-Man. Every time he shows up in a new guise, Spidey is all "Hey, how's it going, Chameleon?"

I'm pretty sure that's from the Spider-Man mini where he's teaching a class at Xavier's School.

uh, i can safely say that they were evil since all cats are evil. their innate malevolence and hatred for life just makes them cuter, though.
