The battery on it is dead, and I still haven't ordered a replacement since it will be like $40, which is kinda stupid money to spend on something like that. But then again, my purchasing decisions have never been the best. The LCD on it is HORRIBLE! I'm sure I have a piece of American 70s kit somewhere that uses an RCA jack for power because I just saw the power brick somewhere around a few weeks ago.

According to Wikipedia, the RCA cable was invented in the 40's and one of it's other uses was a power cable. Judging by the styling on that adaptor, it's probably for devices that did use RCA plugs for power.

Later in the twitter thread they come to the conclusion it’s an adapter for studio photography flash sync— older lights used a Nema bladed plug as the input for that for reasons.

For the most part, studio lights still use that plug for sync. Never seen one with an RCA cable, it's usually just built into the cable with an adapter on the camera end.

Haha, a buddy of mine has that blue minidisc player. The clip that keeps it closed broke about 12 years ago, so he ties a piece of string around it that keeps it shut. And it still works!

Collateral Damage posted:The point is nostalgia. Yeah 3 sucked. It sucked so bad that Nullsoft skipped 4 and went on to 5. I'm not sure what the logic behind that was. Winamp 5 was decent because it had Winamp 2 skin compatibility. It had all the features of 5 but you could make it look exactly like 2 if you wanted to which of course you did.
