Xun posted:Wait what is this desynth allocation thing? Did I screw myself over by trying to desynth everything? no because you can reset your desynth skills. Basically there is a max cap to desynth points that makes it so you can have at most 3 classes at max desynthing cap. However, if you're not desynthing actual max level stuff, then there's no issue to have leveled up basically all of them. When you reach the total cap on points every time one desynth skill goes up another (at random but not the last skill you desynthed before the current one) will go down. like right now I think you can omni desynth everything from ARR and a good chunk of HW before you hit cap.

To get to max desynth in one craft, you need 320 points. If you desynth something and would gain points, but are already at cap, you lose from another craft. At 320 desynth, a 315 item only has an 85% chance base, so if high level desynth is your goal, you definitely want to specialize.

FInally got through the Stormblood story. That was kind of laborious. I hope the following 4.x story is more interesting. The entire 4.0 storyline, and the 3.5 story i still had to catch up with when i came back, just tried SO HARD to get me to care about Yda (and When Yda belted out her great twist, i was just like.... "so what" And then she's the centerpiece of most of the 4.0 story. Ugh. I was kinda upset about the out of nowhere diversion to not-Japan, but in hindsight, it was definitely the highlight. It doesn't help that the Ala Mhigan areas look real... drab and boring. And the Fenn is paced real weird. I unlocked 4 of 5 of the aether wind sidequests just two MSQuests apart. Seems like an afterthought. Please, Yda, just stay somewhere in Rhalgr's Reach or something while i go on adventures now. I don't give a poo poo about your 3rd wardrobe change or whatever. HenryEx posted:FInally got through the Stormblood story. That was kind of laborious. I hope the following 4.x story is more interesting. The problem with her character arc is that it lacks both sufficient setup and a sufficient payoff. They set up that Lyse is a brash, hotheaded woman with dreams of independence who, despite her friendly demeanor, lacks empathy. She doesn't understand what living under perpetual terror does to the soul, and she's startled and confused by all of the people along her journey who won't raise a finger to oppose Garlemald. For a story about armed, violent revolutions, this is a great fatal flaw for your protagonist to have: someone who desperately wants to see her homeland freed, but who doesn't have the slightest clue how to go about doing it, and who thinks that merely being personally good and righteous is enough. What's most puzzling about this is that they actually have a perfect opportunity in the story that goes unused. You get to Yanxia, and Lyse should be fuming at this point over how many people - even people half a world away - are too apathetic to fight back against Garlemald. You could even drive this further by having the Confederation ride to the rescue in the Ruby Sea merely as a personal favor, and they only scare Yotsuyu and Grynewaht away as opposed to directly attacking them. Lyse comes along on Yugiri's rescue mission, sees even more people unwilling to lift a finger to free themselves, and something inside her snaps. When news of Zenos' visit comes out, she's so frustrated with the unwilling masses that she resolves to just do it herself, and she ropes you and Yugiri in on an assassination mission. You all get predictably clobbered, and you're saved by the arrival of the cavalry as before, but Yugiri is seriously injured and one of the villagers you've interacted with dies. The people of Yanxia still want to fight, but Lyse is devastated and uncertain. She realizes that she's missed something fundamental about fighting for freedom, and her uncertainty persists until she meets Hien in the Steppe and learns what it means to be a real leader. You get back to Ala Mhigo, but liberating Ala Ghiri is different: everyone there is uncertain and hesitant, fearful of Garlemald, so Lyse delivers a banger of a speech (borrowing liberally from what Hien taught her before) and rallies them to the cause. Konrad realizes she's finally becoming her father's daughter, and he passes off leadership to her when he's dying, confident that she can become the voice of a new Ala Mhigo. The whole south Yanxia sequence is honestly one of the weirdest parts of Stormblood to me for this reason. The fact that Yugiri - whose characterization to this point has been a stern, stoic woman who's courageous but not stupid - goes on what amounts to a suicide mission comes completely out of left field, and it robs Lyse of what could have been the moment in the story where she realizes she needs to change herself before she can change others. The fact that the story as-is lacks any kind of real payoff for what Hien taught her is genuinely bizarre, too: she arrives back in Ala Mhigo, helps out on some missions, and then Konrad randomly decides she's the best person to lead. We're then promptly never shown her leading anything! C'mon, writers!

They don't release recipes until down for maintenance to prevent people from hoarding in advance. They will take new mats purchased with scripture tomes, potentially some verity mats, and most likely a couple of new gathering items or current endgame ores/leathers. You can look at the i320 and i250 gear for an example of what the stuff looked like for patch 3.4 and 4.0. They'll follow a similar pattern. If you are already geared up for endgame gathering you can make yourself a pretty penny in the first week or two on the marketboard selling the new gathering mats.
