A MIRACLE posted:e: are magnas good? they seem good. When I was in high school and didn't know a damned thing about bikes I thought they were cool - V4 in a cruiser = crazy power and lower insurance, right? hurrrrrr I've had two friends who owned and enjoyed them but said they were a bitch to work on.

Magnas and Sabers V45 and V65 suffer from cam lubrication issues; lobes and journals (IIRC). It's not too terrible to fix the oiling issue, but if the POS PO never addressed it you'll have to source parts for a bike that's been out of production since the 80's. Tuned well and jetted properly with an aftermarket full pipe you'll see 105 HP on the dyno on the V65's. I miss my old Sabre.

Funny enough I was the one that pulled it apart when it came through the shop, found a bunch of metal hiding in the filters and ~300ml of oil in the engine. The customer didnt want anything more to do with it, just bought a 1290 instead. Probably crank and bearings where the metal came from. I'm going to do a set of rockers, complete top end, fork seals, chain / sprockets, rear brake rotor and pads. I have a set of pretty much new tires to throw on it and put that bitch up for sale.

Can confirm. I had a 96 purple and yellow F3 (not smokin joe) and it was such a good bike. $3000 might be a touch too much though. I paid $1800 for mine with about that many miles on it. It wasn't running but all it needed was a carb clean. Eventually all of the seals in the fuel pump started to go but that was right before I wrecked it anyway.

Seems over-priced for a track 250. Edit: Ha the frame is bent. That can't be worth more than $1,000 and even then it's not like it has a bunch of goodies.
