Edward Hargraves? He's mentioned briefly on an upcoming live episode, if memory serves.

No, James McBrien, but it seemed like they were getting close there.

Hahahaaa wooooooo! They started the episode with a James McB reference!

I've heard this story before, starting with the crime and following the people trying to find a solution, but I can't remember where. The stories that are so dumb that Gareth's jokes all end up actually happening are great.

I was reading up on it, did Dave ever mention that the plan for getting this thing in the door was to cover in a moving blanket that was labeled "IBM" in iron on labels

I heard it originally on drat Interesting - but with vastly less detail than Dave presented the story, so it's not a Return To Stealing Stories or anything

They were talking about doing an episode on Arpaio after he shuffles off at the end of the episode right? I don't remember catching him referenced by name. But that might also just be miserable and too much abuse to be funny.

If he had actually gotten sent to prison, you'd at least have a happy ending. :sigh:

We all know he's guilty of being evil scum. It's not a happy ending unless the villain is actually defeated.

Like, I don't think the guy who shot out his wife's eyeball ever suffered much as a result. (Griffith Park guy.) That one ended on kind of a down note as a result.

My favorite moment across this whole podcast is 1:19:30 into The Cereal Men (46) where Gary has this incredible moment of realization about the larger role this guy plays in American history. What episodes have similarly dramatic revelations by one of the hosts?
