Not quite, they're actually digesting what little nutrients they can get from eucalyptus leaves. It's more of a food coma . They didn't really have predators until British settlers rocked up with cats and dogs in tow, so they had no need to care about anything past eating lunch.

Koalas basically occupy a similar biological niche as sloths, but even more specialised, and have really complicated stomachs to digest poisonous leaves. Also those trees are super goddamn flammable.

Pandas breed just fine in the wild. They're just not into it in captivity. Many animals aren't. I used to be really into fish keeping and was reading that some species need special lighting that's the exact same spectrum and brightness of a certain full moon with a ripple machine making just the right size of ripples because those are the environmental conditions that trigger their seasonal spawning cycle.

Bamboo is...not exactly the best of foods. So not only did they, for some inexplicable reason, decide to eat the worst thing they could find they do it with a carnivorous digestive tract. They're a carnivore. 99% of their diet is basically wood. What I'm saying is that pandas are bafflingly stupid and make no drat sense.

Ground-flooring this one. Someone in the OSHA thread just bought this for some reason. It's a fire diamond used to identify dangerous compounds: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFPA_704 Normally all three numbers go up to 4, that's the most dangerous level possible. Someone joked about making it go up to 5 somehow, and then someone combined it with . Actual usages? No clue. Edit: ^^^ dammit it took me several minutes to remember that was called : five :
