Idunno, if that sort of connection gives you that big of an empathy boost, then you're not emphasizing as much with people who don't remind you of someone you know personally. Which is the root of... a lot of things. Okay, that's the way caring for strangers works in practice most of the time, so it's sometimes good that it exists at all. When he was Communications Minister, he enacted polices that deliberty turned what was going to be a world class national broadband network FTTP into .... basically a complete dud using old technology that was never going to work. Back when Abbott was the opposition leader, Turnbull was the Shadow Minister for Communications and in charge of coming up with an alternative to the National Broadband Network plan the then Labor government was implementing. Then they got into government and Turnbull oversaw the changes. You can guess as to how well it functions as by how Pope draws it.
