Cousins is a big upgrade to anybody the Broncos have on the roster and frankly, whoever they'd draft because Elway's acumen at drafting QBs is.. not great. That being said, I dunno how much of one - the rest of the Broncos' offense is still a mess. It's hard to say until after FA/the draft though.

My friends are already talking about going to Mexico City to see that game.

I'm more of the Chiefs/Chargers in Carson speed these days.

Cousins is a good QB, but not worth the average of 30 a year it'll take to get him.

I'm cool with them signing him, because maybe we'll be able to steal away Shaq Barrett.

Tamba Hali is a guaranteed cut. DJ will either restructure or be cut, too. Revis is absolutely not getting 10m next year and will be gone.

Other possibilities:
Ron Parker (Was real bad last season and saves 5m)
Allen Bailey (Declining and due to make 8m)
Dee Ford (not worth 8.75 mil, but may not pass physical and KC will be stuck)

I think they end up dumping DJ, Hali, Revis and Parker and will have around 23m after those moves and Alex trade, plus carryover. Should be enough to make one big FA move to cover the fact they are minus a first this year and that's about it.

That's not a foregone conclusion. Leading reasons could be salary cap relief and the fact Crabtree took himself out of the final game last year but to be honest, I don't blame him.

MrLogan posted:

Again, not a foregone conclusion. But Lynch was our best offensive player in the second half of the season and would have had better numbers if he was used more effectively.

Raiders could free up $36m in cap space if they cut a bunch of dudes, including the above and Amerson(done already, obviously) Smith and Irvin. This is the deepest RB draft in ages, so I'm not against releasing Lynch although I'd like the Raiders to keep Irvin, who played well after KNJ was fired and Crabtree, if his head is right.
