No see those are 2D, this is Live2D. Totally different

Actually it looks way more like the old console games than a browserclick. Even down to the "I hope you can read these options in three seconds" chance time things.

I don't like the Live2D hair movement but it seems like the done thing so I guess I'll have to live with it if I play the game.

39 always included Kotoha (37+13 for the Million Live 50, then the 2 extras) which is a little weird in retrospect since she wasn't there.

It does appear to have gacha given the 'feather jewels' in the prereg bonus so it's not pure console but yeah, it certainly has some similarities. Not really obvious what you can do in gameplay but HTML5 is probably more powerful than I'm aware.

Actually Million Live had the 5-second choices occasionally too but it was just for dialogue choices, it never actually did anything.

They couldn't not have gacha, it's still a mobile game. I wonder if 300 gems/gacha is just a single pull. Could just be for items or something, though From some of the screenshots, I'd think that maybe it works a bit like the side M rhythm game. There you drag your idols to places to have them do things (like hang out at the office or do a handshake event or be on a tv show), which increases their motivation or something. Probably isn't really different from sending your idols off to do lessons or something on a schedule, though. I was mostly going off the uh, live battle screens. They look like the old judge-appeal system I never actually understood, but now multiplayer. (Or at least that's what I assume 育てたアイドルで全国のプロデューサーを対戦 means. But now that I zoom in on the tiny screenshot, it seems your opponents are just "idol A" and "idol B." So it's probably pointless to think too much about how anything's gonna work just now.)

Game-wise, I think html5 is more or less on par with the sort of stuff you can manage with flash? Probably a bit more, since you can hook in other stuff. I mean, you probably wouldn't want to do anything too strenuously timing-based with just html5 I assume that the minigames in mobamas are just a drop in the bucket, and the taiko game there works kinda alright*, but it's certainly more powerful than baby's first website, ca. 1998.

Also, I guess it's a good thing I never actually counted the idols. It would've bugged me that they had a ghost Kotoha the entire time.

*Also, even long before you were meant to be allowed to use a computer to play mobamas, there were actually keyboard commands for the taiko drum. This has nothing to do with anything, but I thought it was kinda neat.

Yep it's 300 feather jewels per pull. As far as I can tell that lineup of prizes halfway down the page are bonuses for signing up to their newsletter/social media beforehand. Depending on their total follower count everyone gets greater prizes, with the tiers being for 50k, 100k, 150k, 200k, and 283k followers. (Fun fact: "283" is read "tsu-ba-sa" this time!!)

:h::h::h:Alhamdulillah-chan:h::h::h:
Yeah, I mean having one of their goals be "enough jewels for three pulls!!!" just seems a bit weird, coming off basically every mobile game being 1 pull or 10 pulls (with the occasional outlier letting you pull a number in between). I guess it depends on what, exactly, they're tucking away in the gacha.

Also I donno why you'd prereg with twitter or line when you could use your email address and get even more issues of bandais newsletter per week

Oh, that is a clever twist.
Also I don't remember how I saw the keyboard commands, but I do know I'd sooner use those than click. I wonder how well mobamas works on PC. I couldn't get andapp to install in Wine, because it explicitly wants to be installed as a regular user, and Wine doesn't really do that. And I'm not curious enough to boot into windows and prod the windows update dragon just for that.

Wow, DIE. Speaking of which, when did the thread title change?

Also, does that new Valentines Dia UR have her crossing her fingers in an X in front of her face, or am I seeing the card art wrong? If it is, I need that set to come to EN soon, but it'll definitely take several months for it to do so, what with the backlog between the two.

Is JP also doing Year and group specific Step Up Scouts that change every day for Lunar New Year, and their new packages? Probably gonna do Aqours First Year tomorrow and if I can scrape together enough loveca after, maybe by buying some, either a Muse or Aqours Third Year next week.

Plus new Lunar New Year goals connected with XP x10 songs, in the middle of the second Adventure Rally event too... At least it isn't as bad as the last event in EN, with 5 LP Expert songs contributing to Point inflation, but with those XP boosts, I can imagine a lot of people playing them to level and get a full LP bar refresh.

Those Event spots with reduced LP costs and multiplied Event points and all that will certainly pile on the points though. The event story points are apparently actual locations in Numazu that Klab modeled them off of, I guess those have become more pilgrimage spots for the SIF playing LLers.

Nice Kanan birthday mini shrine.

Kanan may be my least liked Aqours girl, because she had little to no impact in most of the beginning of the first season of the anime and she got crowded out by my best girls when I was forming my opinions on best girls from the show, but on her birthday, she's still aces.

I have a question but I think I already know the answer:

I'm loving struggling with this Adventure Story event thing. The second spot just hasn't unlocked despite the fact that I have close to 3000 event points, and so obviously I've cleared spot 1 several times over. But I haven't gotten that combo medal, and does unlocking the next spot require clearing all 3 objectives on the spot before?

I recently started playing on Hard instead of Normal and I don't want to give myself a break and drop the difficulty again when I'm trying to train myself to git gud. But I will if I have to for this story poo poo.

Yeah, you need to complete all three of the objectives there in the previous story spot in this Event in order to get the next story spot to unlock, alongside the required Event Points. Found that out myself two nights ago when I was wondering why the third story spot wouldn't unlock despite having more than enough Event Points to open it up. Turns out it was because of that combo objective being uncleared in the previous spot, so I just did a better Expert run on that song, racked up some more Points doing so, and the spot unlocked.

So yeah, if you need to, drop the difficulty to get the combo objective cleared and move on, or git gud to make the combo on your preferred difficulty.

So many "Secret Spot"s with Event Point boosts and reduced LP costs that pop up after every story spot unlock to keep my Event Points up. Those and the attribute Challenge spots help as well, although not as much as the former for Event Points, though the Objective rewards help a lot for loveca, handshakes, N Seals, and G.

Been blowing too much LP on the multipliers though, need to play more songs and get higher up on the Point Rankings if I'm gonna get into Tier 3 and claim that Event Yohane SR. Not gonna miss out like that Event Maki SR last event. That Token Match was a drat massacre...

Scraping the top of Tier 4 right now, gotta wait for an LP refresh first, and hope the Tier 3 basement doesn't climb too high while I wait.

I've already leveled up twice because of it, it's really helping. Should dump those rollover LP into the event too, maybe this one won't be as bad as the previous one, but it is still pushing Event Points up like crazy and I burned a couple of loveca to state current in Tier 3 because I let my LP accumulate for too long due to not spending it when I should've because I was distracted by other things online.

Also, apparently a bunch of EN Whales are pissed at KLab for giving x10 XP songs right after 5 LP Expert songs, plus 9 free loveca from the Lunar New Year login bonuses. A couple of bigger name whales apparently ragequit a couple months back (apparently one of them was pissed at not getting the UR they wanted in the 3% UR banner box that was around Christmas despite spending a ton to whale for it, I think it was OtakuReborn, who I have noticed has been missing from event leaderboards lately.

And some more whales think that KLab giving out all these bonuses and loveca for free makes all the "effort" they spent whaling with their P2Win to buy more loveca to do more Scouts for their best girls and URs and to level their accounts over years worthless, if a (relatively) new account can accumulate LP like crazy by playing a x4 Expert song for 100 LP and gain 3320 XP to level dozens of times with that song and stack the rollovers repeatedly.

Plus all the loveca being handed out during these Lunar New Year goals, and the banners giving so many Step-Up Scouts for specific year groups when they had to "work" and wait for their specific 50 loveca rate up set boxes for their waifus. I mean, all the loveca that are being tossed around is amazing, and great for letting me get a bunch of these scouts during these bonuses, but apparently it's a bad thing to these whales because it devalues the money they spent on loveca to Scout for their waifus.

Bunch of them (probably just the loudest) are hoping that EN server dies soon because they apparently hate KLab and it's English staff (which admittedly is apparently pretty terrible response wise) and all the money they dumped into this game for their waifus going to waste in their minds or whatever.

I dunno, some people really take this waifu game way too seriously, one that'll eventually be merged into SIFAS sooner or later.

Yeah I went from level 96 to 102 in a day without buying any refills. Feels good finally getting past 100 :) (That's about 7 weeks of playing, but of course that includes both the Let's Play event and this x10 XP event.)

I have to ask about the pro strat for finger tambourines: Handheld phone with thumbs for tapping, or device mounted on something and tapping with index (and possibly more) fingers? Sitting or standing? I can beat every grade 8 Hard song handheld with thumbs, but I get better combos sitting with the phone on a table, held in place with some poster tack.
I can barely read grade 9 Expert songs, not reliably complete, and grade 10 only confuses me.

And lol whales. It's just a loving rhythm game, that happens to have cute girl pictures in it.

I play with thumbs only on a phone, but I think thumbs vs fingers is more of just a personal preference, either way is fine.

For the jump from Hard to Expert what helped me a lot was setting every difficulty to use the Expert scroll speed. So you can get used to reading the faster scroll speed on Hard without having to worry about failing from note spam on Expert songs.

I play on a tablet, so I use index fingers, usually while sitting in bed with my tablet on my legs or knees, or flat on the bed. Sitting at a desk is also good; sitting with my tablet in my lap is usually a bad idea if it slides off or something like that, last time I failed a song was because of that on Super Bowl Sunday.

As for difficulties, I used to be terrible at doing Expert songs, but after a couple of months, I got gud and started being able to clear them. Having better teams with Healers and Perfect Locks also helped, but for the longest time, my Aqours Cool team didn't have any of the former and I couldn't clear Strawberry Trapper and other grade 10 songs for the life of me unless I got lucky. Now that I got gud, it's not as hard, but Master songs (especially the slide ones) are the devil and I usually need a loveca (or two) to restart a grade 12 one, but I usually get enough of them back from clearing the song that I come out ahead even after spending them.
