Is a pro worth it if I don’t have a 4K tv? I’m trying to decide between trading in my OG PS4 and getting one, or just buying a used Switch. They come out to about the same amount of money.

It's really a question of Nintendo exclusives being a deciding factor.

Take a look but switch is probably a better buy than an upgrade to what you already have.

I'll help you beat some bosses if you get stuck. Personally I'd recommend 3 over 2 all the way. 3 is so much better imo. I really don't think it's any harder than 2 either, maybe for the first 2 hours but they are all around the same difficulty. veni veni veni fucked around with this message at 17:52 on Feb 16, 2018 |

Two, I finally started playing D&D and made a dwarf with a shield. I got heavily into the concept of being a strong as poo poo chunk of meat with a shield. I’m not sure what happened but suddenly I’m a shield guy and I want more. What games have satisfying shields? Sword and shield in Skyrim always kicks rear end. I might play some of that soon. Reinhardt in Overwatch has been a recent thing for me also. I want to take big hits like a boss. Keep your eyes out for Kingdom Hearts 3, for one.

Samurai Sanders posted:So neither of them have some super secret useful use that I never found out about? They were just a cruel joke by the developers? The DLC shield is very good in some extreme situations. It has very high arcane resistance, which makes it much easier to survive one particular boss's ultimate attack. So instead of dodging like mad, when you see the boss readying that attack then you just equip the shield and brace yourself. But the rest of the time it's mostly worthless.

Escobarbarian posted:I didn’t realise Bloodborne was more about actively attacking, that makes me more interested tbh Yeah, Bloodborne is all about actively attacking. There's only one shield in the base game and it's a joke item; it's completely worthless and won't protect you. The game is all about dodging and attacking. If you get hit, the damage doesn't become immediately permanent. If you attack the enemy within a short window of time afterward then it heals that damage back. There are healing items but you're only allowed to carry a small number of them. So you must play extremely aggressively or you will die. It requires a much different playstyle than the Souls games and will be very difficult at first for people (like me) who are used to turtling behind a huge shield. The item description of the one shield even states that the shield is worthless and that passivity will get you killed. Fortunately I was able to adjust to how the game wants to be played and enjoyed it enough to get the plat. Edit: The number of different armor sets is also pretty low and there's almost zero difference in protection so you pretty much just need to wear what you think looks good. ...! fucked around with this message at 22:15 on Feb 16, 2018 |

Nostalgia4Dogges posted:man tough crowd For your first Bloodborne playthrough: Pick strength or skill and focus on getting that/vit/endurance up to 25 and then do whatever you want. The starting zone and the first two bosses are very much designed to teach you how to play. Dodge towards things instead away from them, most attacks will carry enemies past you and set you up for sweet backstabs. Strength has bigger weapons, but Skill weapons do the same amount of damage pretty much and have a big added benefit. Post in the B.B. thread... da Boyz will get you where you wanna go
