Was the kid only showing warning signs in the past year or two? Cause the Mueller investigation isn’t even a year old, and the fisa stuff not even two. The (disgusting) “too busy hating Trump to stop this” makes no sense. Unless you think the FBI just developed a hate boner for Trump ever since his 2012 run and have been utterly dedicated to ruining him and nothing else ever since. In which case, you are Ben Garrison and need to gently caress off regardless.

I know that intentionally missing the point of an argument is kinda these people's thing, but holy gently caress could you be more transparent about it? Like, there's no way this isn't him intentionally avoiding the actual point and I can't believe he's stupid enough to think that it has anything to do with France itself. Jesus Christ.

Does Tinsley think George Washington was a Confederate? Does Gorrell think "late term abortion" is a thing that exists?

Well, for a truly committed pro-life person, the answer would be "both A and B". I don't think that's the point Gorrell was trying to make, though.

Zivilyn Bane posted:Does Tinsley think George Washington was a Confederate? Late term abortion is a thing, but it's generally either someone who is just narrowly missing the window of 20 weeks rather than a woman deciding in her ninth month of pregnancy that she's not going to have a baby after all. Late term abortions are absolutely a necessary thing, because when it is actually late in the pregnancy, this is what happens when you find out in the last trimester that your baby has a fatal, incurable defect and cannot possibly survive outside the womb. These are generally wanted babies. Parents have a nursery decorated and names picked out. It is, imo, extremely important for late term abortion to stay legal. If you outlaw it, then you're sentencing women to carry their baby for a couple months knowing that it will die shortly after birth.

I'm pretty sure you can't get a later term abortion done in the first place unless there is a medical need for it so its not like this is a problem. If someone just wants to get rid of the baby because they don't want it they aren't going to wait 8 months to do it. But a lot of pro-life people view abortions at any point for any reason to be terrible so that doesn't matter to them. Its all just pointless deflection anyways so who cares? We all know these people don't really give a poo poo about this.

quote:Editorial cartoons tend to be critical by nature, so whenever we feature President Bush, it is usually to criticize a particular policy stance of his, e.g., expanding domestic socialism, advocating a Palestinian state , showing deference to the U.N., etc. But this cartoon shows what we admire about him -- his willingness to use force to protect America from its enemies. Now if he'd just stop playing the diplomacy game...

Most of the time around here I feel like the response to LATE TERM ABORTIONS!!! is that it's not a thing, just something right wingers made up to scare/moralmonger with. Maybe it's because the ones using the phrase generally seem to be imagining a perfectly healthy, viable, fully formed infant that the mother decides against having at the last moment. Kind of hard not to notice that the anti-abortion pieces always show a fetus pretty far along in development, despite the preponderance of abortion laws restricting it to much earlier phases.

They're all comical exaggerations, but they are things that for real happen to women, particularly ones that publicize being feminists. The real-life version of that guy would say something like "women already have it easier than men" or "well I'm an egalitarian, because I believe in actual equality," but the sentiment is the same. The most unrealistic part is him being embarrassed by his outburst. Zulily Zoetrope fucked around with this message at 09:41 on Feb 19, 2018 |
