I have a fine assortment of blue chip vintage farts here *pulls away a sheet revealing various jars labeled with dates, the youngest being 1976* *picks up one of the newer-looking jars* I've been assured that this one came from hitler's bunker during the final days of the nazi regime, would you care for a sample?

I remember someone in this thread saying Coinbase had your USD balance in a FDIC insured account so they considered that balance to be perfectly safe because they wouldn't piss off the USA government. I guess if the money doesn't ever reach the FDIC insured account then it's fine! EDIT: actually might not even be that? https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/comments/7l9ul4/coinbase_is_not_fdic_insured/ Pochoclo fucked around with this message at 14:03 on Feb 20, 2018 |

TraderStav posted:https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/comments/7yvb7f/missing_wire_of_10000_for_69_days_and_still/ That has been going on for over half a year with Coinbase where randomly wires/transfers will just disappear into a black hole when they hit Coinbase and support never does anything about it. I'm wondering if it's the person sending the money tripping an alert with the US government and it's being confiscated and Coinbase has to be hush about it.

You know I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a clause in the ToS for Coinbase which states "by using this service you agree not to pursue any legal action against Coinbase LLC". Gotta go for the ultimate gently caress you.

What does Coinbase do that makes people believe it's a legitimate operation? And on that note, what's the rear end inflation rate?

Does FDIC insurance even work that way? Yes it’s called a custodial account but your insurance is by bank so if you have 175K with BOA and coinbase happens to bank there only 75K is insured.

Also if you have $350K worth of crypto and $10K of "cash balance" inside of Coinbase and it goes bankrupt, FDIC will only give you the $10K back (and even that's a maybe, if it can be proven that the 10K was in an FDIC insured bank). Crypto is not insurable by US gov't. Since almost no one just keeps USD balance inside of coinbase and everything is in crypto coins, if it goes down everyone will lose everything and there is no insurance. They carefully fineprint all this poo poo so dumb buttcoiners can spread the "everything you have is insured!" lie on Reddit. Rad Russian fucked around with this message at 16:57 on Feb 20, 2018 |
