Those cartoons are from a time where the notion of a white supremacist president was a biiit less realistic than Tinsley's bimonthly "brown people are predators" cartoon.

There's something uniquely disgusting and brazen about dismissing the survivors of a shooting's opinions on gun violence by trying to paint it as dumb kids following a trend. NRVNQSR posted:This one actually brought home to me just how desperate the gun lobby seems to be this time. The video games bogeyman hasn't been credible for almost ten years now; I can't even remember the last time it was dragged out in earnest. And yet here it is again, being flung at the wall with everything else in the hope that something, anything will stick. They dragged it out for Sandy Hook and at least one other shooting since, though I can't recall which (). I guarantee that a ton of people over 50 still believe it just as much as when Columbine happened. And they probably still blame satanic music, too. Though it is true that the NRA is genuinely desperate nowadays. They don't have a democrat in the white house to bogeyman to immediately deflect from the actual conversation, the survivors and victims were all well-spoken white kids who have a digital presence, the shooter was a conservative... Their only options are to try to poo poo on the survivors (yikes, especially since they'll be voting age relatively soon), trot out the old standbys and hope for the best, or outright claim the shooting was a false flag. Here's a political cartoon. It's from Belgium. For context, the N-VA is the First panel: "You've fled Sudan? These gentlemen have come from Sudan to identify you and bring you back there." Second panel: "You've fled Spain? We're going to get Parliament to invite you, come, come..."

For the record though, Call of Duty games are military industrial complex propaganda and you really shouldn't buy them. They had loving Ollie North as a consultant on one of them.

Call of duty and a few other AAA games are pretty much the only ones that overly glorify violence anymore, smaller games and indie games tend to be more nuanced and do poo poo like show the consequences of actions like that because they are all made by liberal beta cucks.

ryonguy posted:"Come on in, it's free, some weirdo on twitter paid for it already." The first one. The other day a friend and I were offered a free ticket (to a movie we weren't interested in so we didn't accept it, admittedly) because the person who bought it online apparently changed their mind but didn't bother to get a refund or anything. So if there's a ticket with an empty seat attached, they would most likely give it away since it was already paid for.

That might be its own issue but at least it's not literally lining the pockets of war profiteers and war criminals while acting as a recruitment tool.

Dommolus Magnus posted:If they're flemiish nationalists, why don't they speak Flemish? Immersion ruined! Because neither the Sudanese refugee nor the Catalan clown understand Flemish. Belgians are usually perfectly bilingual between French and Flemish, so they'll use the "other language" if they have to. (It's just the assumption is that they never have to if they're talking to another Belgian. This leads to funny scenes like in a Flemish restaurant the waiter will talk in French to French tourists and in Flemish to Walloon tourists.)
