We also had some Lady Death comics but they only lasted like ten minutes.
Apparently my boss was onto something!

I saw a recent Lady Death comic and aside from the cover the art was filter-hosed DAZ renders and photograph backgrounds. Which is the proper medium for the character.

Is this a sexy vampire David Duchovny? I don't remember that happening in the 90s at ALL.

I know I've seen this exact photo before but darned if I can remember where or why. I bet it's one of those cases where the... sexy?... imagery is meant to sell shoes or toothpaste or something.

On a more wholesome subject, enjoy this hideous ear worm I was reminded of the other day from 1990.

Pretty sure those are from David LaChappelle, but it also looks like Hype Williams, who directed many awesomely 90s videos, such as:

Missy Elliot's "The Rain" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHcyJPTTn9w and TLC's "No Scrubs" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrLequ6dUdM,

and one of my favorites, "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUhRKVIjJtw

In 1996, I played in the Baltimore Ravens marching band. McDonald's sponsored one of the first halftime shows and we had to do that dance. We got booed off the field.

So serious. They were throwing cups and trash at us.
I'm trying to find video or something, there was some nobody disco diva that was the guest bandleader. Security had to hustle her away.

Because they have funky beats, driving baselines, and fun chords? They're loving goofballs.

I like them for the same reason I like Ween. They're clearly very talented and love what they are doing. They just choose to make the most immature weird poo poo.
