Prototype cross ram intake for a Chevy 302, only $85,000. https://www.hemmings.com/parts/item/14148.html?refer=home

What a loving ripoff. Here I was about to pay $85k for an intake but the cheap gently caress wouldn't throw in the shipping...

Aside from that, at some point you have to wonder what the real value is in having this "official GM piece". I'm sure someone somewhere will overpay like hell for this, but I'd bet these days you could pay to have that intake reproduced, likely with better performance than the original, for a lot less than that.

I did get a chuckle out of the first line: quote:This 1967 dated prototype cross ram intake, for the 302, is one of 4 or 5 produced..The cross ram is well document by Guinns-Engineering. Well document (sic). Hell we don't know if there were 4 or 5, but this poo poo is well document.

https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/d/1991-mr2-turbo/6504021586.html Is it weird that a thought of a beater MR2 turbo sounds fun? Yeah, the engine will spin a bearing asap and you'll fall through the floor but still. It looks beat to death. The engine sounds like it's about to spin a bearing and there's pretty significant rust. But yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a turbo so cheap.

I looked at a one in similar shape to what he's describing but they still wanted like $3k. I'm wary of really cheap sportscars - they usually end up being the most expensive.

There is a Red/Black Mk1 MR2 parked up near me that never moves, same as a CRX and I am tempted to offer the owners something for them until I remember they will be rusty hulks and I don't fit in them.

Back in the mid 90's I drove a Samurai because I couldn't afford a Wrangler lol, mine was mint and I think I paid like 3k for it. They are fun driving around town, but scary on anything over 55mph. Not worth the premium they are fetching now at all.

Good old fashioned Craigslist passive-aggressiveness. I don't think "most-driven General Lee replica in Portland" is going to be a hotly-contested title. https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/d/1969-charger-rt-se-general/6513570274.html https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/d/general-lee-1969-charger/6513537018.html

That's surprisingly not awful. I think the only reason for that is because the flare is less pronounced. Would still look better if the bedsides met the cab sides, though I was thinking of something more like this:
