Like Bernie, who had a slow start, but who now occupies the working class, forward-looking politics of the opposition.

Levi is not running for President (or indeed even for Senator from Vermont) and Bernie has never been President (yet). Going into politics in the general sense (without being groomed for an eventual stay in the White House) isn't that bad in comparison. He's not his father's heir, he's just using his famous dad to get his name out there for his own poo poo. Which still isn't great, but not really comparable to HRC or the dumb Obama family buzz or even the people who want Joe Kennedy III to run for President.

Nah. Even if it is a politician I like I don't want to see their kid getting in to it. It just entrenches the political class even further.

yeah there's a good chance they win anyway and then use the fact that they didn’t run on anything to justify building the wall in exchange for the Republicans allowing them to do smart benefit cuts or some poo poo

Yeah it's honestly kinda lovely to be like "well your dad was elected to an office entirely separate from the one you're running for so you're not allowed" it's not like the Sanders are going to be referred to as Camelot or some weird bullshit like that 20-30 years down the line

Yeah, I get the dynasty hate but I feel like there's a comfortable space in between "the same one or two families shouldn't be running America" and "no one is allowed to have the same job as a relative ever" as positions.

Of course, he's seeking political power at all, which is bad, but whatever.

There's a republican state senator in PA who is retiring this year and endorsed his son to run for his seat. The funny thing is that he has the same exact same name as his father so like half the voters are just going to see the same name and think "oh yea let me re-elect this guy".

Kind of a niche case but pretty funny.
