I seems, from an in universe perspective, they treat it more like how ATC handles EAA than a traditional airport. Which is funny. To explain, EAA is "White Cessna, rock your wings. -wings rock- You are clear to land on <runway> at the <color> dot" more or less. It's rapid fire ATC.

By patrols do you just mean that one ship that sits by the base? For some reason last night it wouldn’t ever move, so I would only get shot at if it spawned as something with a turret like an anaconda or python. Eagles and vipers and asps just sat there and stared straight ahead while I bobbled to respawn skimmers.

You can also respawn the ship to get an easier guardian by popping out into supercruise or orbital flight and doing the loop of shame. I'm assuming that if they fix this, the bug is that the defense ship isn't properly engaging or something so they'll add a fight nearby. Which would be sad. Based on other former money makers it'll take a few weeks to get patched out. Wouldn't be surprised if they changed up or lowered the way the other non-money rewards work though. Can get a poo poo ton of rep or items for very little effort.

Should be able to just flip through eddb looking for war/civil wars with empire as an active participant? Wouldn't be as effective as finding sweet spot systems with almost nothing but missions targeting one faction but should still get you a decent flow of skimmer killing ones.

isn’t faction grind legitimately gated by number of missions done and nothing else, which is why donation missions have always been the best way to work on it since you can just throw cash at a dozen and get as much rank up as doing a dozen other missions? or am i thinking of somethig else

Now you can choose to have less cash and more rep as mission rewards which helps a lot, and the million cr donation missions seem to give a big chunk of rep each.

Also, if you didn't know with the new skimmer mission money grab - you don't have to log out and back in to make the skimmers respawn. If the sentry ship isn't shooting at you you can just reverse to about 350m and then move back in to about 250m and they will pop back out of the ground. Makes it go by really quick.

Since beyond dropped I’ve loved playing this game for all the cool new stuff they’ve put in it. I really hate playing the game like this exploit stuff but holy crap is this some fast as hell rank and money accumulation. There’s no way this lasts long.
