Helen Mirren wore that dress, changed for her host moment, and then changed back. What a trooper.

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.

And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

Nobody watches the Oscars to see Producers talk. It’s like sticking around after the Super Bowl to see them hand the trophy to the owner.

Gold Derby had 17/30 critics going for Three Billboards, 12/30 going for Get Out. But yeah I'm surprised about that one too.

no, it's a Jimmy Kimmel joke. He says that at the end of every show, it's the origin for the Kimmel/Damon War

This is my feeling. I’m a huge GDT fan but Shape of Water did nothing for me beyond the cool creature design and Richard Jenkins. I was fine with either this or Get Out winning, I’m just glad it wasn’t The Post or Darkest Hour.

Haven't seen Shape but of the other nominees, having seen them, Dunkirk was the only one of them I walked out of thinking it was an easy five star film. Second is Get Out, and they are both far ahead of the film. Those films stayed with you after watching them, and staying with you is my opinion of the Best Picture.

Okay I liked The Shape of Water okay but it winning best picture is dimension-splittingly insane. It's not even Del Toro's best film. It's not even his second or third best film.

Even though I'm sad Soofie didn't win Best Song, I'm glad that that trash Greatest Showman song didn't either. Also hurrah for Guillermo del Toro winning and for overcoming genre fiction prejudice.

That and the dentist scene are so drat goofy; the movie is just a tonal mess. Sorry McDonagh, just having Frances McDormand and Carter Burwell on board doesn't make you able to pull that poo poo off like the Coen Brothers can.
