Thats all less than 1000 credits? I barely managed a 7 man gang.

Wait, poo poo, I miscalculated. I guess some guys will be carrying junk for the first few games,
Edit that list for all the gangers to be carrying stubguns I guess?
Or the harpoon gun is replaced by a stub pistol and a knife for a game or two, maybe?
So:

Leader 120
sawn off 10
stub pistol 5
servo claw 30
Current total: 165

4 gangers 220
4 autogun 60
Current total: 445

2 gangers 110
2 shotgun 60
Current total: 615

Juve 30
stub pistol 5
knife 10
Current total: 660

2 champions 190
Heavy stubber 130
Stub pistol 5
knife 10
Final total 995

Give the melee champion the harpoon gun after a game or two (for 110 credits down the line) and see what happens.
I'll still build the model with the harpoon gun, I guess, but say "counts as" for a few games or something.
(This is what happens when I do my numbers late at night, and forget to carry the 1(hundred) :v: )

E: harpoon gun is move and shoot, so spearchamp goes forwards with the assault team.
Leader, meatshield juve, shotgun gangers, and spearman are the objective takers.
Heavy stubber and 4 autoguns and the cover fire, defensive, dakka team.
It splits the gang down the middle, but hopefully that's not too bad.

E2: or I could replace the two shotguns with stub pistols for the first game or two, and give the champ his speargun back (and take his stub pistol off him so I can buy the heavy stubber guy a knife so that both heavy weapons have backup knives)

Is anyone else playing (or has played) Blood Bowl at Adepticon? I have some questions about the rules.

1. Skill packs: Why would anyone take anything but the Standard Skill Pack (5 normal skills to 5 different players, and a 6th normal or doubles skill to a 6th player)?

2. Roster resets: It says that rosters reset after every game, and gives the example that "all casualties are healed". Doe this mean all SPPs are reset, too?

3. I know what the CRP is, but they reference BB16/17 a lot, and I'm not sure what those are. Are those just shorthand names for the recent GW releases of Blood Bowl's rules?

I've never played BB at Adepticon but can probably help with your questions.

1. The standard skill pack is by far the best option for most teams. I guess the others are there for variety but really they suck unless all you want is an AG5 and a MA10 Gutter Runner.

2. Sounds like the format is resurrection rather than progression. This means you don't earn spp between games, cas don't carry over, and you don't worry about winnings or other post-game actions. It's very common amongst BB tournaments because getting wrecked first game really puts the mockers on having fun for the rest of the tournament.

3. Yes, exactly that. It's the new iteration of Bloodbowl plus the supplements Death Zone 1 & 2.

What are you thinking of taking? All the low TV teams look good at this and the results for the last few years bear that out - Orcs, Dwarves, CD, Norse and Undead. Halflings look good with the right coach due to the free Master Chef (which is pretty preposterous).

I bought the 32mm set and got 5 of one design, 2 of another, 2 of a third, and a single base of a fourth design. Perhaps it's just random, though that seems an odd way to do it.

Definitely agree with this. The new supplement even has rules for running an elite full power armor gang if you’re into the Brotherhood thing, and it’s really modifiable. I’ve been meaning to do a longer write-up on it in F&F because it’s a really well-done game, especially for what appears to be a mostly one-man operation working on something with a lot of moving parts.

Why not discuss this more in the lesser-known minis game thread? It already has some write-up stuff for it, although discussion tends to be kinda scattershot.

I am bringing my Orcs! Here's the 1,100,000 team I was thinking of bringing:

1 Thrower
4 Black Orc Blockers
4 Blitzers
2 Orc Lineman
Apothecary
4 Re-rolls

As for the skill pack, I was thinking that all the Black Orcs get Block, one of the Blitzers gets Stand Firm, and one of the Linemen gets Guard. What do you think?

Yeesh, he's right, you are a bad ham for this (this was going to be my first suggestion too).

I would drop the Apoth and take another lino. Given the limited skills I doubt you'll be up against any killer teams and the extra body would probably serve you better. For skills I'd say block the BO's and Thrower, then tackle on a Blitzer. Guard would be nice but you have 4 st4 players which should help in that regard, and if you face anything with dodge (or worse, blodge), you will be gnashing your teeth trying to knock them over.

On your drive use the thrower as the ball carrier and run it up the pitch if you can (because of sure hands + block). On your opponents drive hang back the tackler as a sweeper. Oh and kill everything. Good solid Orc playbook!

Update on the Warmaster VC army in 30 days: I'm wrapping up the zombies - they just need a black wash on the tombstones and a few touchups.

Next up are characters, black knights (still no clue how I'm going to paint them) and basing. I'm still a bit ahead of schedule, but the deadline is coming up fast. We're slated to get over a foot of snow on Wednesday though, so I might luck out and get an extra day of painting in.

Oh they can be. I went a really long time never taking them because they were too unreliable. Then I spent a season in our league playing Pact, then Ogres....

I think in a roster like this especially they can be a boon to the team. They act as a great roadblock, can mark and soak up attention, and are stupidly resilient. It does help not to fall into the trap of always thinking you have to do something with them. Sometimes just standing there and getting in the way is better than having to roll dice and risk them going dumb.

A slightly different take than RedVenom's advice...

If you're not going to get a Troll, then Blitzers get Guard, Mighty Blow, Frenzy and Tackle. Thrower gets Accurate. Lino gets Guard. With all the Black Orcs and Guard about, you should pretty much always be winning on strength, so 2D blocks everywhere should be enough instead of "wasting" skills on mass Block. Tackle is for obvious sacking, Frenzy and Mighty Blow should help clear the pitch. Alternatively, swap the Guard on the Lino for Kick, swap Mighty Blow or Frenzy for Guard.

For 1100TV I'd really recommend the Goblin and Troll though. Helps for clutch plays, which you'll need in a tournament. A good opponent will not let you 2-1 grind for the win, so you're going to need to move the ball quickly - which is why I go with Accurate instead of Block on the Thrower.

With the releases being quarterly, the safe bet is that they land in May. Warhammer Fest is May 12th and 13th.

I'd put money on seeing the next gang (rumoured Van Saars), GWIII, some of the bounty hunters, and the bits packs there.

Whether they'll be a pre-release like the Necromunda weekender, that's anyone's guess.
