This latest bitcoin hack seems to be pretty ingenious on the part of the scammers. It's all over reddit, but gently caress if I'm going to copy & paste everything to draw the dots together. Seems like someone found some exploit in Binance where they could execute trades with compromised accounts (but seemingly couldn't withdraw). These account holders report that they hadn't had any failed login attempts and 2FA was enabled. The hackers executed trades to buy a shitcoin VIA, which pumped up the price so the hackers could sell their own VIA at a massive profit.

I can't feel too sorry about stuff like this, because the entire point of these things is to provide an opaque mechanism to take other gullible people's money.
