What happens when you take away 20% of a car's downforce and then race them in the wet?

Indycar fantasy team site is back up. All accounts have been deleted, and unless they add it in the next couple days, it looks like no leagues this year.

They have leagues, it has its own tab on the website. You can make or join one right now.

quote:

"The images have to just be loaded onto the car, but we just set a spec of building a bitmap of 38x35," Koskey continued. "We can spec an image into that, and we can load thousands of images onto it, and each image is assigned a 'race rank'. The American flag is an ID200, and we can put an American flag on there when they're on the grid for the national anthem. Then when they're on the warm-up laps, as they're going around each time, we can say which content can go on there – for example, the flag of the competitor that's in the car, those things."

If I were at the track, something I would like to see is a clear indication of which cars are on the lead lap. Not that you couldn't infer that from position indicators, but on ovals and restarts especially it would be great if the leaders would stick out like a sore thumb with a different colored LED. Say for instance, green for the cars on the lead lap and red for those a lap down or more.

They’re using red for positions and green for P2P and for pit stop times. Blue might be a decent color for lapped cars’ positions, as that matches the blue flag?

Every year I forget about watching ABC broadcasts of Indycar races and buy a cheap antenna.

Every year that antenna breaks and I stream the rest online.

Rumor is that James Davison will be announced in a second Harding car for the 500, assuming they don't wreck their primary tub between now and the Indy GP. Thats 36 if Buddy shows.

Big ups to Chevy and Honda for stepping up the number of engine leases btw. Wonder if thats a positive side effect of the development freeze.

I wonder if the devel freeze was caused by the increased interest for the 500, not a side effect, now that you mention it. Like if we're pushing 36 for this year, after two years of "Will we make 33?" is a fantastic sign.

I was going to say “well what about 1979?” but realized it was also about USAC being dumb, teams breaking away and USAC trying to keep stock blocks competitive. So, history really does repeat :v:

I'm gonna quote the rule book here

Rule 8.4.3.4.1. posted:

The fastest thirty-three (33) Cars completing Qualifications attempts on Saturday shall start the Race. However, for every Car unable to complete their Guaranteed Attempt, as described in Rule 8.4.3.4, there will be an equal number of temporary positions available at the rear of the starting field.

Rule 8.4.3.7. posted:

The Race shall be comprised of thirty-three (33) Cars (or such other number, as INDYCAR shall determine).

So I guess it's 33 unless IndyCar decides they want more, such drama!

That is pretty aggressive but looks like all the other curbing. Maybe it's just the fresh coat of paint on them that makes it look rougher
