I hit upon this idea as well but then realised you still need pressurised water to go into the system, which I found a lot harder to work out. Although one rotating building has already been built in Brazil, and according to what I read the plumbing is achieved through some technique or technology similar to how planes are refuelled, whatever that means

boner confessor posted:no, the aircraft coupling thing is the unbuildable dubai proposal On this one neither the middle nor the outer balcony rotate.. So it isn't really that the whole floor rotates, the floor is stationary and solid like any other building. It's just that the living space is on a gigantic lazy susan. Pretty cool though.

Rotating buildings are great osha material.quote:'On July 8, 1974, nine days after the attraction opened, 18-year-old hostess Deborah Gail Stone was accidentally crushed to death between two walls of the building between 10:35 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. A narrow channel between a stationary wall and a rotating wall was open and Stone either fell, stepped backwards, or tried to jump from one stage to the other as the rotating wall began to move (it moved every 2 to 4 minutes which was how long each act was). Her death was pronounced at 11:00 p.m., when the carousel was being reset for a new cycle. One of the audience members heard Stone's screams and notified park staff. Other employees didn't notice the dismembered body until the end of the show and thought that Deborah's death screams were part of the show.' quote:(CNN)The family of a 5-year-old boy who died after being crushed in a rotating restaurant atop a downtown Atlanta tower has filed a lawsuit against the restaurant, its owners and staff. I got drunk in a rotating restaurant and it is a very unsettling feeling. You are only a couple of drinks in and you feel like the whole room is swimming as if you were completely tanked. When are you actually tanked, it feels like you are hopping on and off a merry-go-round. One more beer and I'd have been clinging onto one of the pillars, asking for someone to help me get off.
