my company offered benefits coverage for domestic partners as well as spouses

six months after someone started using that, the company announced they were dropping that policy and only actual marriages would be covered

i was thinking earlier "could there be a way to short out the plug so it's consumed by an electrical fire, since those are almost impossible to prove arson on" but then i didn't post it because if i did i wouldn't be able to do all my arsons without suspicion anymore

his apartment could be like mine and the charging isn't metered, just a small fee added on to the rent
and when i was at a place that was metered i wasnt using more than maybe $20 in electricity a month

i mean it's drawing like 15 to 30A for 6+ solid hours, that's a heck of a lot of watt-hours even if electricity is cheap, like running your oven for 6 hours at a time every day

i think they're probably cheap to charge compared to buying gas though

yeah i can drive my old subaru legacy 480 miles on a full tank which is $36 these days
if i can trust tesla's calculator, the equivalent would be two 240 mile charges each using $9.63 of power with their default power cost

so $36 for gas versus $19.26 for electric to go the same distance
