I'm still pissed off that original programing like The Carmichael Show couldn't last more than 3 short seasons. That was more because Jarrod Carmichael was leaving but still. That show gave us Tiffany Haddish and she's rad as gently caress.

Even better was it was essentially localized to the UK as Coupling, which NBC then bought the remake rights to in order to fulfill it's "white people who constantly hang out with each other" quota, and managed to royally screw it up and canned it only after a few episodes. The British one had some great moments and is still worth checking out.

The expendables was also relying on its nostalgia factor, but put that nostalgia on screen with the cast instead of just rebooting a series. Also Expendables I was fun as hell. The sequels were terrible, but that first one was like they made a Jagged Alliance II adaptation in the late 80’s.
