the Lemon beat bangs and his flow is way more interesting than most of the Drake stuff I've heard lately but it's not like... particularly good. still gets blown away by Rihanna's verse lmao

fun tho. if this gets a bunch of Drake stans to give that last NERD record a shot that's pretty good

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzCct3j-pH8

then again Lemon had loving 63 million views on Youtube so I guess it's not like that record didn't get noticed when it came out, but I feel like no one really listened past that song (because, y'know, Rihanna)

Kinda feel the same as others in this thread. I have heard some really cool songs from him but trying to get through an album is rough. When I first listened to his new album, I thought it started off on a high note and then kinda started to drag on more each song. But I didn't give it a fair second listen which I should probably do.

I gently caress with him. He's insanely talented, probably the most talented out of Chicago since Lupe, but it feels like he hasn't clicked at how to put it all together yet.

I liked Innantape, and I liked probably half of Autobiography. Along with most of his loosies(U Mad, his verse on wolves, Dim Sum)

Memories on 47th, Rolling like a stoner, Heaven on Earth, Down For some Ignorance, Wings, Fire Next time and OMG.

It sucks that right as if it felt like he was about to blow up, that he went through a ton of poo poo in his life.

Nah, Sosa has made a project better than anything Vic has put out so far.

But Vic talent and potential wise eclipses him.

I haven't liked anything of Chief Keef's since like Faneto.

Imo Paul’s boutique is one of the best produced albums of all time. Something that sample-rich will probably never happen again.

This is from a while back but a couple of years ago KEXP in Seattle played the entirety of the songs sampled for Paul's Boutique in order. It was something like 10-12 hours long. It was super rad but I didn't get to hear all of it live and they only kept it up to stream for a couple of days and their web player was kinda janky iirc.

I have been really trying to listen to as much sample-based stuff as I can, especially the older stuff. I know I’m missing important producers but wanted some advice from this thread on what to go for next.

NoID and 88Keys are great, Handsome Boy Modelling School (Prince Paul & Dan the Automator) as well.

The rapper says things then got crazy and camera was brought out to record what happened. 6ix9ine also says he “personally” uploaded a video to social media of the incident.

The criminal complaint states that three videos from the night were uploaded to social media, and detective Maureen Sheehan says she was informed the victim was 13 years old. But while speaking with Akademiks, Teka$hi said, “I don’t know her exact age, I think she was 14 or some poo poo like that.”

During the Akademiks interview, 6ix9ine also claimed the victim told him she was 19 years of age. “When she came in she asked me how old I was, and I told her I was 18, and I assumed she was older,” he said. “The way she was asking made me think she was older.”

Teka$hi also downplayed his own age during the interview, referring to himself as a “baby,” “a kid” and “17 years young.” But based on the rapper’s statement and the complaint filed against him, his birthday is May 8, 1996—making him 18 years old on the day the incident took place.

Just in case anyone is confused that this dude is a piece of poo poo and you shouldn’t be wasting your time on this gay earth defending him on an Internet forum.

Maybe he thinks 14 is a bigger number than 19 (he dumb as hell guys)

I feel like this is probably the best thread to share this new music since we don't really have an R&B/Soul thread. A local Sacramento artist just released his debut album and I have been jamming to it all day. He goes by The Philharmonik and his style is a combination of Neo-Soul, R&B, and Hip-Hop. He plays piano/keyboards, sings, raps, and did all of the production on this album. He plays a lot of live gigs in the area and is a talented performer as well. I know this isn't true hip-hop so feel free to skip if it isn't your thing but would definitely appreciate the support and if you do give it a listen, let me know what you think!
