Makes sense in that context, but you'd think the Thorns would have bought Zaid given they have plans for him. I'm interested to see if Zaid ends up being an antagonist (or at least groomed to oppose Allison). I'm sure he could be persuaded that he's the rightful heir.

The Thorns had him originally, it'd be weird to let him go and then buy him back. If they wanted him they should have just taken him directly back to Michael/Metatron, unless I'm forgetting some detail.

They didn't intend to hand him over to the Demiurges, they just couldn't prevent it from happening.

Mottom decided not to bother with the whole death maze and just drove her castle into the vault. Remember Mottom's summer palace is flying and mobile so she can follow the path of worlds razed for her glory. It's not particularly out there to go take it to visit the neighbours.

The alt-text claims Mottom is not a subtle queen, but that's about the same level of subtlety as Hrotomos so it's alright I think. Mammon just gained a free flying palace to put in his vault. It might even still have a few intact teapots.
