I'm half-surprised at this, it felt like the easiest past trauma to do was accidentally breaking up her parents' marriage via telepathy.

I would extend that into the early 20s. I seriously didn't know what I wanted to do or why until 2nd year of college. If it wasn't for my counselor pushing me and talking with me I'm not sure where I would have ended up. Go Toda! Be the support Aya needs.

I don't think there's a set age where people develop their ambition; it depends greatly on the individual. That being said this page hits close to home for me as well.

So then in the anime fan's understanding of it not even hiatuses are the sickness unto death, still less everything which is called earthly and temporal suffering: want, sickness, wretchedness, affliction, adversities, torments, mental sufferings, second-cour budget cuts, NTR. And even if such things are so painful and hard to bear that we men say, or at all events the sufferer says, "This is worse than death" -- everything of the sort, which, if it is not a sickness, is comparable to a sickness, is nevertheless, in the fandom's understanding of it, not the sickness unto death.

Good boy Toda. You not only went with the "help her study route" but you went with the "help her by going to a university open-house" route.

For all his supposed lewd thoughts, the guy obviously cares a bit about Aya's wellbeing.
