There's always someone. I swear to god, whether it's a bridge that's too low or a flooded street, there is always some rear end in a top hat who's like "I'm going to do it anyway because the rules don't apply to me." Why are people such lovely, self-obsessed, delusional drivers?

Ten years, or so, ago, we had a major storm with massive flooding; the water from the river actually crested the bridge leaving about two inches of fast-flowing water moving over the road surface. Some doofus in a pickup truck decided that his jacked up ride totally negated fluid dynamics, drove a few yards onto the bridge, and promptly got washed into the guardrail, where he got stuck. A tow truck came out and duitifully hauled him out with a winch. A few minutes after that, some other jackhole in a pickup did the same thing.

It's how I was able to escape a flash flood that occured in Phoenix with my sister's Prius.
