Well, in theory it's something the Army Corps of Engineers could tackle; they do public works projects all the time, although usually they focus on dams and waterways. But there's nothing in the budget for it, he'd have to strip funds from some other military project to pay them, it'd cost twice as much because he's USACE don't work cheap, and he'd still have to beg Congress for the eminent domain money to buy the land the wall is going on.

They don't care about any of that. I'd still put money on Trump being too big a coward to actually do any of this though, just as always. Plus, no way Congress dicks with the defense budget just to give him his idiot wall; and he'd need 9 Democrats to go along with it to get it through the Senate.

It makes sense in a warped way, there's a lot of stuff in early Judaism that implies a henotheistic faith; we are the chosen people of our god, who is the only god we worship, those guys over there are the chosen people of their god, who is the only god they worship, etc. Then that developed into taking other people's stories outright and calling the other gods big doody heads and gods of the toilet, then outright calling them demons and false gods, until you have a more strict monotheism waging spiritual warfare against forces of evil (while at the same time presumably being responsible for their creation once you're fully monotheist). So it makes sense to see modern fringe religious types steal the chosen people mantle. In a less monotheistic age they'd probably make their own god instead and just steal the stories. Still pretty  , but not beyond expected from Freep.
