Lord knows where you keep getting the idea that Greens voters are somehow richer than Labor voters. You need to come to my branch and tell them about how rich they apparently are.

Literally the demographics of who is voting for them and the average incomes of areas in which they're doing well? Nobody is saying "you must be at least this rich to vote Greens" but if you think Greens voters are basically comprised of the poor starving masses then just lol. This data comparison of average jobs of ALP/Liberal/Greens voters is five years old now, but look at the job listings and tell me which group you think has higher average income out of the ALP and Greens.

Who gives a poo poo? Oh, we better defend the capital of Social Professionals, Welfare Workers and University Tutors. It's just yet another stupid attack on the Greens to try and frame them as somehow being amazingly well-off and I have no idea why you would defend that.

no* difference

So is the line off shore detention? Otherwise that argument applies to the ALP just as easily. Like it's starting to look like the greens are attracting born to rule types and rotting at the core, just like the ALP did when it turned to poo poo. So yeah they are still better but are they loosing their good status?

Yeah if at some point in the theoretical future the greens become, in a practical and policy sense, worse than labor, I'll quit. Dumb slapfighting and internecine bullshit isn't that point.

Looks like Australian Cricket just destroyed their reputation. The batsman admitted to ball tampering and the Captain just said the entire leadership team (but not the Coach!) knew about. The ABC commentator is calling it complete arrogance and total hypocrisy.and their position is untenable. We're at the embattled and soon to be disgraced stage.

If they have justice the leadership team, coach and everyone else's career just died. It will be interesting to see if that applies to white guys.

"Neoliberalism" has been blamed for everything from rising prices, to creating loneliness, to making us physically sick.

However, the root cause of Australia's economic problems is better understood as the absence of free market capitalism, not its prevalence.

Cutting Australia's high corporate tax rate would help turn this around. The Treasury — hardly a bastion of free-market thought — estimated that reducing the business tax rate to 25 per cent will increase GDP by 1 per cent, or $17 billion each year.

Who really emerges as the winners? Business editor Ian Verrender looks at the push for a 25pc company tax rate.
This windfall would be shared among customers (through lower prices), shareholders (through higher returns) and employees and households (through higher wages).

Economists differ on the exact breakdown. But Treasury estimated about two-thirds would go to households, mostly through higher wages.

Even Former Treasury Secretary Ken Henry stated, "if the company income tax were to be cut, the principal beneficiaries will be workers …"

Daniel Wild is a research fellow at the Institute of Public Affairs.

Just quoting the most eye popping sections there. I was not aware that neoliberalism would be so benefitial for our nation, or that these corporate tax cuts would filter down to workers. I was shocked, truly. I had been lead to believe given a company tax cut most companies would pass profits on in the form of further bonuses to their CEOs and such.

That's an unfair analogy since eventually if you bash hard enough you'll suffer a subdural hematoma and die from it, while neoliberalism wants you alive for your labour.
