Colors ended today, it was good. The slow pan over to Yui's dead-eyed stare at Sacchan and her mom was possibly the funniest moment of the season.

I mean, according to somewhat outdated standards, the difference between yaoi and shounen ai is that the former will depict some non zero amount of sex in it, but no one really ever makes this distinction outside of fujos.

I'm pretty sure the -ais are outdated western fandom terms (in Japan they refer to pedophilia) and yaoi is also outdated. They still get used on sites like ANN and MAL because, well, hrm

shounen ai was an actual genre descriptor about BL with schoolboys, it's when western anime fandom made 'shoujo ai' to contrast it that things got strange.

According to some article I read shoyinen ai has fallen out of use because it sounds pedoey which makes it funny that BL is now the umbrella term. And shoujo ai is entirely a western invention apparently
