I've only ever seen tankie used to describe the kind of person who thinks North Korea is a utopia unfairly maligned by the Capitalist Pigdogs of the US, but that's mainly because I've only ever encountered the word in this forum, mostly in the context of the PYF Tankies thread.

I can only speak second-hand here, but I’d heard that much of the show was about the rest of the cast growing up past the wreck of an MC and finding their own, better lives. Plus, the cinematography looks genuinely impressive.
