Upon inspection of my Mustang I have noticed that the headlights have gone completely foggy again. I called up another body shop and explained how just 6 months ago before I put the car away into storage I had the lenses polished and they looked great. I asked them if they could polish my lenses and apply some clear coat on them and guarantee it for more than a year. The guy said when headlights are cleaned multiple times it means it time to replace them. The guy said he would look at them and charge me $50 if he thinks he can fix it for a long term. Now I may have to eat my hat if I replace my headlights because last year someone on this forum said just replace them and I said no its cheaper to just have them polished. I may not be able to do the polish method anymore. If I do replace them I really do not want to spend $450 on OEM parts (I am generally leaning this direction, but frig it is freaking $450!) I am afraid if I do buy the clones for $50 to $100, they will just be sh**. if I look at aftermarket there are some options, the Dual Halo lenses are out of the question though. What do people think of these https://www.americanmuscle.com/94-04-black-projectors-dot.html there are 2 headlights w/o the halo but the lenses are smoked hiding the fact that they are not quite stock. Opinions?

If the lights go cloudy once, that means the plastic is deteriorating, I don't know that there's anything you can do to stop that process. Polishing and clearcoating just removes the current dead layer and buys you some time.

Are they foggy or is there just condensation in there? I have these and humid air will condense in there when the car sits, but it clears up once the lights warm up. I don't like the smoked look, although I'm not sure if it's the color or the idea that some of the light is being wasted heating dark plastic instead of lighting my way.

Its definitely a permanent fogging issue. I dont like the smoked lenses either for the same reasons but I don't like the fact that all these lights dont look like stock. I was hoping the smoke would hide that fact.

I was hoping the smoke would hide that fact. Mine were fogged, when I bought my Mustang, and I bought a set of TYC lenses which basically looked like the newer OEM style, but they've fogged in about 3 years. They also have an ATROCIOUS beam pattern, which I'm hoping to find a fix for. (You basically can't see anything immediately to the left or right of the front of the vehicle - it projects forward very well, but no coverage to the sides.) All that said, the reviews for the housings you posted seemed to indicate something similar. So, if yours lasted ~13-15 years, buy some OEM housings, they'll be worth it.

Krakkles posted:Dumb question, were your current lenses the OEM ones? And how long did it take before you started having issues? I started the polishing in 2016, and that lasted a year. I did it again last ~August? It didn't even last the winter and I didn't even take it out of storage. So I guess 18 year old lenses really lasted 15 years without problems. I forgot to look at LMR's listings for headlights yesterday, and today I picked up the SVE headlights. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-13008I-K/01-04-Mustang-Factory-Tinted-Headlight-Kit The reviews are pretty positive. I hope I did not make a mistake with this! I just cant justify the cost for $450.

I'm not getting anywhere with Google, can anyone recommend someplace that documents all the differences/parts sharing between 2011-14 gts vs pp v6s? And I guess generally what parts are universal to all mustangs in that year range? They share the same transmission right? And the same suspension if the v6 has a performance pack? And almost all of the interior or whatever is the same aside from trim levels? So what changes? Just junk that directly connects to the engine? Engine, intake, exhaust? Ignition? My internet window shopping demands DETAILS. I know someone, somewhere, has sperged on this and I want to benefit from it. Jack B Nimble fucked around with this message at 21:48 on Mar 21, 2018 |

They're listed as LMR/LRS/SVE, but when you look at the housing itself, I seem to recall there being a TYC part number. They did at least look nice when I first got them! Edit: This is a long shot, but does anyone know the dimensions of the opening / cavity for the foglights (on a '99-04 GT)? I'm looking at putting something else in there and wondering how much space I have. OEM (probably?) left, LMR/LRS/SVE/TYC right: Krakkles fucked around with this message at 00:48 on Mar 22, 2018 |

The non PP tires are pretty crummy from what I've heard. Some kind of all seasons. It's almost worth it for the PS4S's alone. But I do enjoy the gearing and think the wheels look a lot nicer too. And of course the Torsen and giant Brembo's are a plus.

Anyone with a newer mustang replace the factory clutch return spring? I’ve had my car over a year now and I still feel like I miss the sweet spot on the clutch when shifting sometimes and I end up getting a little feedback. I’ve heard a lighter spring can help you feel it out. Opinions?

I learned stick on my 2016 and i took the spring out immediately and I thought it felt so much better. It's real REAL easy to take off and put back on though, so go for it. The replacement spring was like $15 or something.

I told you to try the softer spring :/ but yeah Ive had mine removed since 500 or so miles and it's def an improvement. If you do a lot of traffic driving you might want to opt for the steeda replacement spring.

It’s just slightly harder for me to quickly feel it out in this car and I’d love to not stress any linkage or kill my clutch before it’s due.

I do, and switching in and out of first and second just feels less than great sometimes and a less than perfect use of the clutch/gas can give me unhappy feedback.
