hiddenmovement posted:Vegetarian fare needs to improve a bit first. A lot of the time when I go out vegetarian options are frilly little lightweight meals designed for 45 kilo hipster girls. Much of the time I end up getting the meat option simply because I'll need 5 of those overpriced herb bread and dip platters to fill me up. Its a godsend when I actually find places that will provide a hearty, filling vegetarian meal. Yeah, even vegetarian lasagna or moussaka or whatever seems like an entre compared to the meat filled version. Pump that poo poo full of quorn or TVP or something, not some watery tomato based liquid.

Senor Tron posted:It is, but the instant someone gives an answer to a question which clashes with party policy it can get a lot of media attention. I know, like I said, but it's frustrating that it's the case. Everyone knows Tony Abbott thinks differently to the LNP on a heap of issues, but he's a huge rear end in a top hat about it. So what if people think differently to their party, isn't that a good thing, isn't that showing robust debate, doesn't that strengthen the votes and positions of individual candidates? I understand why all this happens, I understand why it's necessary, what it achieves and what the purposes are. I just find it depressing that it's so necessary.

Senor Tron posted:It is, but the instant someone gives an answer to a question which clashes with party policy it can get a lot of media attention. The reason it gets media attention is because the media is so much a part of the political class it doesn't even care about the message, just how it was messaged, ie the narrative. When your main concern is "what does this do for the narrative", little else matters. But this is partly why the electorate is looking for new messages, and if they have to find new messengers for it, they will. The narrative isn't failing just because it's not believable, no one believes the narrators themselves, neither politician nor journalist, believe it.

You don't really need to exaggerate, it's already underpaid domestic and child care duties. With how they railed on Di Natale they can't afford at the present poll position to get caught out same (probably worse).

In the news it always seems like the FWC will breach some Cafe but you almost never hear about them auditing low English areas where knowledge of minimum wages is extremely low. Surely the FWC have translators?

#auspol reports that Dutton's wife owns some Child Care companies. One of the illegal visa breakers in on a tourist visa made a call on a Sunday and was let into the country in 30 minutes. Looks like I was wrong about it being a sex-trafficer involved. There would be very few people with that kind of pull on the Minister. Someone's leaked this into the media to kill Dutton's chances at being the PM. President Trumball or Scomo? If it dosn't get traction, they'll be another leak about it shortly.
