Ohhh, that's embarrassing to me, esp. since I once ran an Achtung Cthulhu campaign set in Yugoslavia and I even know better, for that obscure and stupid reason. Didn't recognize the flag.

Wasn't there a thing in Argentina where (fascist-descended) Slovene-Argentines would (or used to) unfurl that flag at soccer games?

Lol they summoned the ambassador about something that character said in a popular TV show? One time? It’s not like it’s her catchphrase. Whatever twit decides that must have even thinner skin than Trump.

I wonder why Mexico didn’t demand any executions for Arrested Development’s super racist (albeit tongue in cheek) portrayal of Mexico and Mexicans.

I think it's less about people disliking poutine and more about the origin of poutine being a source of controversy, i.e. "Made in Canada" vs. "Made in Quebec". I think it's a map of most controversial topics, but who knows. Label your maps, people.

E: Oh just noticed the facebook thumbs down, it is getting triggered over people not liking poutine. Poutine is fine but it's overrated, it's the type of thing you get when you're drunk.

What this map really tells is that the USA are a country that has sneakily unabolished slavery. It's really not a coincidence that Blacks are targeted much more than Whites.

As far as I know, Japan at least has basically a 99% conviction rate. If you get investigated for a crime, you are practically guaranteed to be convicted.

They haven't unabolished it. They've straight up never abolished it. The US has been a slave state from founding till today.

The US population is 325m. The population of the 'all others' is approx 670m. Which just makes the comparison even worse.

The US prison industrial system is horrifying.

I'm not sure that's what Safety Biscuits meant but Taiwan and South Korea have much smaller populations than Japan. Yet all three countries have roughly the same prison population. Taiwan especially must have several times the incarceration rate of Japan for some reason.

Right, Japan seems to have a proportionally rather low prison population; it's equivalent to several European countries with much smaller populations, plus these three and Australia. Taiwan and Australia have about a fifth of Japan's population.

I assume that either Japan prefers other forms of punishment, or that their prosecutors won't act without maxxing out their chances of a conviction.
