Man, the second season of Santa Clarita Diet is weird. In a funny way. But weird as hell.

The ending was so perfect, they may have hosed up the ending of season 1, but they more than made up for it on season 2.

Having finished with Miami Vice, I've opted for The Equalizer next (but I'm also keen to watch all of MacGyver, so I will probably switch them up a bit). Edward Woodward is a bit of an oddity amongst all the other late 80s action tv show leads. Maybe casting a grey-haired Englishman in his 60s was the risky thing to do in 1985.

feedmegin posted:Umm the actress herself is pro Trump so what do you expect exactly? Well, as far as I know the rest of the cast are pretty anti-Trump. I saw a clip of Roseanne and John Goodman on Kimmel and Goodman pretty clearly loathed Roseanne, at least when she was talking about politics. I wouldn’t be surprised if the show gets to the end of the season having had one “issue” episode after another that ends up on the anti-Trump side each time. Apparently they already did an episode about transgender issues that did that? I just don’t want to spend however many hours watching a show that ends up either pro Trump or “fine people on both sides”.

Roseanne Connor isn't that bad of a person and at least a little sympathetic. If you want to see a real oval office then follow Roseanne Barr's twitter.

My wife's parents are a lot like Dan and Roseanne except they have tattoos and listen to old rockabilly punk bands and voted for Bernie. But I mean the way they act is pretty spot on. Like despite being weirdos they're also deeply redneck and have a lot of those values as well. If I ever get divorced I fully expect my father in law to show up with a shotgun at the door.

Anyone else watching Jesus Christ Superstar? I am curious how Judas' last song will compare to the movie's trippy version. Alice Cooper just did pretty well.

Finished Santa Clarita Diet S2. So, so, so, so loving weird. Hilarious and just gets better the weirder it gets but so, so, so loving weird. I basically already made this post earlier when I was only half way through the season, but now I'm finished and its so, so, so, so much weirder than it was when i made that post that I felt the need to make the post again. Really loving weird. I loved it.

Cooper did better in the 1998 cast recording, tonight he was just singing instead of performing. Still really good, though. Whoever was playing Pontius Pilate was KILLING it.

I missed the first hour, and I'm not super-familiar with the show, but Brandon Victor Dixon was incredible as Judas. Stole the whole show. I'm sure he was an incredible Aaron Burr in Hamilton.

Also way better than season 1. Can't wait for season 3. If I had to gently caress one guy.... it would most definitely be Tim Olyphant. I would potentially do it even if I weren't forced, the man is uncomfortably handsome.

Travelers is pretty good but there's no dedicated thread and I'm not sure what the sell-by date is on thread necromancy regarding the time traveling thread. Is Vince Ingram part of the faction or is he just some third party opportunist? This is concerning the 17 minutes episode cuz it looks like deaf asian henchman is working with the frogmen in some iterations

Topher Grace played Murph's boyfriend in Interstellar. Though it was one of those empty vacuum roles that left no impression with anyone, anywhere.

Is there no one watching Billions on this forum? It's honestly one of the greatest shows running right now. I was surprised there wasn't a thread for it already.

I just started watching the show from the beginning. Only two episodes in, and I know these things usually get better over time and I've heard that this show definitely does, but it's just... the starting premise isn't screaming watchable to me. How long until it shakes things up? It's mostly screaming "Bobby Axlerod is a porn star name" tbh.

Then the show is pretty much 100% solid once they introduce a.character named Taylor at the beginning of season 2.

I quit partway through season 2. I got tired of watching one rich guy trying to screw over another rich guy while other dudebros talk about making sick trades and that they totally shorted that stock.

Anyone who's quit watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I don't blame you, but the latest episode, The Box, is one of the series' best. It's worth checking out.

The audio balance on the crowd could have been better for JC Superstar, but I'm just happy that, unlike the other live musicals they've done, it didn't go to commercial every time someone took a breath.

When does HBO put up new episodes on Now? I thought Barry's second episode aired at 9pm EST last night, but by 9:30 it still wasn't up. Do they wait until after broadcast or did they just gently caress up the upload?

Regardless, HBO's Sunday schedule right now is 9:00 Here and Now 10:00 Silicon Valley 10:30 Barry So Barry wouldn't have been up until 10:30 at minimum.

Ah, gotcha. I did a quick Google search and saw 9pm in the snippet. So either my reading comprehension skills are poor or the snippet pulled misleading information. Either way, I should've clicked in. Also, Barry is very good. Not the most original, but super charming and I love how low-key Hader is playing it.
