Lady in front of me in line tries to order the "$1.00 Big Mac". Poor guy working there was very confused.

I used to hate chip and pin because it would take like 2 minutes to do the transaction but everywhere seems to have had an update or something cause now it's like 15 seconds at most. Gas pumps are like the one thing that still uses the stripe.

Stories involving the long processing times spread like wildfire, so stores that didn't update their systems to chip-and-pin dragged their heels on upgrading. The places who did upgrade to chip-and-pin would adopt unofficial just-have-the-customers-swipe-anyway policy, further delaying adoption.
