a very scummy blockchain company that was listed on NASDAQ got halted today by the SEC because insiders who were issued shares and illegally sold them were trying to get away with $27 million https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2018-61 quote:Washington D.C., April 6, 2018 — check out the chart for that stock. ticker is LFIN it got over $70, down to $8, and back up to $24 in just a few days before it was halted. it was basically a shitcoin on NASDAQ. now imagine this exact thing happening except on totally unregulated exchanges Uranium 235 fucked around with this message at 17:19 on Apr 6, 2018 |

holy crap 7k lol. so how much money can the average person make daily? I remember at like 9k, people were making a dollar a day after electricity? I see a lot of mining rigs on my local craigslist. one seems to indicate desperation but counters it with "DONT WASTE MY TIME, SERIOUS OFFERS ONLY", and then follows up with "I know a lot about bitcoin because im an engineer, I'm buying a better rig after this".

The thing is the difficulty always increases due to big mining centers expanding and/or upgrading their existing equipment and do things the way they are so often done in China, where it's all about volume and profit margins are razor-thin. If you get a mining rig that's more than like a few months old and are paying anything for electricity, it's pretty much a certainty that you won't earn enough crypto to even cover the cost of the rig and the electricity used. This had an even funnier application when one mining rig maker "tested" the units which were already very late for shipping out by mining bitcoin for himself, and only sent them a few months later when the mining difficulty had increased enough that the rigs were no longer profitable to operate.

I started mining gridcoin today. It'll cost me a few bucks per month but I'll be focusing processing power to help with protein folding and also something about spinning pulsars.I'm a nocoiner so I can afford to just toss money at whatever for fun instead of worrying about my capital gains and my butt being worthless.
