discord has possible the worst ui ive ever seen. slack sucks, skype for biz sucks, dunno about teams since our IT dept can't be arsed to let us use it ("we're testing it.. -apr 2017").

I don’t think there is a single person at Microsoft, even on the Skype for biz team, who actually likes it. teams is basically replacing it, and while I’m not a fan it’s actually useable, which is a huge improvement.

skype for business would often pick one of my contacts' names and rename everyone on my list to their name. even in chat windows. it was very confusing and i thought i was losing my mind when three colleens were messaging me.

discord is good overall but some weird things happen like the functionality in scrolling and searching is super broken. say you want to find an image someone posted so you search for it. well for some reason you can’t right click on the results you have to jump to the chat, copy, jump back.

I am a big fan of MS's inability to figure out an update mechanism for Teams on Mac that actually works so every time it attempts to silently background update and fails it just closes the app and doesn't re-launch and you have no idea until you start getting the nag emails about missed messages. I've had like 3 support tickets open for it now and every time they fix it for one build and then break it again a month later
