Regardless, it's an uphill battle and everyone here knows it so we really don't like being told that we just need to work harder.

I’d also advise getting the public educated about socialism as much as possible. Not many people will change their minds right now due to the economy finally healing but that will change once the next recession hits. We’ll want to have as much groundwork laid as we can before that happens.

I'd personally guess substantially less likely than Trump. Other hand, he'd spend a lot less time tweeting angrily and a lot more time getting poo poo on his agenda done, and that's not what anybody ITT wants.

Wasn't he a nominally popular Virginia governor? I only know him for being drunk on TV, friends with the Clintons, and giving back a bunch of felons their voting rights by hand (which is legitimately pretty cool). I mean stories like these are kind of pointless, it's 2018 and anyone can say "I wanna run as a Dem for president" all they like, nobody is just gonna waltz through the primary unscathed. He's just gonna be M'OM tier material, the guy who is locally well-known but a non-entity nationally.

My impression of McAuliffe is that he essentially exceeded expectations because everyone was expecting actively bad instead of inoffensively competent. I can't say that qualifies him for the presidency, but that's for the primaries to sort out. And the US has definitely done worse.
