Oh yeah and I just noticed the one I posted (obviously not my own kitchen) was 2016's pattern and the current one is actually kind of lame anyway :( (I didn't really notice it even had Moomins on it until I got home.)

I got one of these to replace the second one. I've since gone through a couple ID holders, but the lanyard keeps on trucking. Looks nice enough for business casual too.

Finally upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy 5S to a Google Pixel 2XL.

I was paying $50 for a SIM only plan with 12gb of data and I'm now paying $60 for a 15gb plan and the phone with an optional upgrade in 12 months for a newer phone for $129 and on a provider with a better network.

Came with a free Google Home Mini which has been great but the novelty has started to wear off.

I described Cline's writing as "an autistic person describing his favorite video games." Other people have said similar things. It's just lists of things and events devoid of any emotion. At one point Wade is crying, and the only reason you know is because his internal monologue says he's crying. None of his dialogue actually comes off as sad, and he never describes his feelings in a way that would suggest he's crying without him telling you. Almost all of the action scenes except the final battle are incredibly short because Cline has no clue how to write action, so a gunfight against 50 NPC enemies is covered in two paragraphs and forgotten about. The characters and their depictions also fall full bore into homophobia, transphobia, and racism.

His knowledge of the Internet also ended around 2003, so characters still use slang like "Suxorzs" or "L33t". The most recent game he mentions is from 1992.

My friend is actually working on that. She counted 113 references to something that Wade definitely says he watched, played, read, or listened to. She took the most charitable interpretation possible (if he says "over a dozen", she put down 13 watches, and she didn't include anything that was just a minor reference that he could have gotten from Wikipedia or pop culture osmosis).

He says it was 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and he's been a gunter for 5 years. That gives 22,000 hours that he would have had for research.

She's not even up to the 40th item on the list and is already at around 13,000 hours.
