The pull of the Forbidden Teacher/Student Romance is quite strong, and what is Maaku if not a rebel to society's rules and norms? Also, the reaction once a certain character finds out about the romance is amazing. Finally, not taking the romance path makes the Rank 10 skill kind of super awkward. . . . Well... that was certainly interesting to type out.

Also, I should take this opportunity to point something out about Persona 1: It had a loving obscene number of damage types. There were the elemental attacks: Fire, Ice, Wind, and Earth; the Force attacks: Electric, Nuclear, Blast, and Gravity; The Holy skills: Expel, Miracle, Bless, and Prayer (though Miracle was only for certain moves, Bless was just healing and Prayer was buffs); The Dark skills: Death, Curse, Nerve, and Occult (Curse was certain moves, Nerve was negative statuses and Occult was positive statuses); and different Physical attacks types/melee attack types for different skills/every weapon in the game: Tech/Rush, Sword, Axe, Two-Hand, Spear, Whip, Fist, Arrow, Thrown, Handgun, Machine Gun, Shotgun, Rifle. There's also Special (neutral, the equivalent of P5's Almighty). Even ignoring Miracle, Bless, Prayer, Curse, Nerve, Occult, and Special as "real" damage types (they don't even get unique icons), that's twenty-three different types of damage. It's a bad game. Persona 2 pared that down a lot, but it still had a ridiculous number of elements, and it includes a mechanic for combining elements for combo attacks, that's an insane amount of things the player was expected to either memorize or write down when playing.

Currently, he has excellent, but not perfect Knowledge, Guts, Proficiency, Kindness, and Charm. Therefore, in order to determine a match for him, we should rate the confidants (as those are the people he is closest to) on those qualities, looking for ones who are solid, but not perfect in each. The candidates: (presumably) Haru: We don't know enough about her currently, but she seems pretty weak on Guts. Fool: Although Igor could be said to have a strange Charm, I doubt he would rate highly on it. Also too Knowledgeable. Although this option would be hilarious. Magician: Morgana is not as Knowledgeable as he likes to pretend, and definitely lacks kindness. Also, is a cat. Priestess: Makoto is too good for Maaku. She is clearly max Knowledge and Guts at a minimum and probably Proficiency as well. Also, based on her confidant so far she seems to be aggressively working on improving the other two attributes. Emperor: Yusuke may also be too good for Maaku. He is very hard to categorize on the game's social qualities. A decent potential option. Hierophant: Don't date your surrogate parent. Also, clearly has all categories maxed and is far too good for Maaku. Lovers: Ann has maxed charm probably, but seems lacking in proficiency. Potentially a good match Chariot: Low knowledge, probably low proficiency. Ryuji is still best bro though. Justice: Akechi lacks all Charm and probably Kindness. Plus, Maaku hates the police. Hermit: Futaba is max knowledge, but low Guts and charm. Also, Maaku should not date someone in a quasi-familial relationship Fortune: Chihaya is too weak in Knowledge and Guts. Strength: Ummm, let's just move on Hanged: Iwai has max proficiency and probably max guts. Also strong kindness and charm. Another one that's probably too good for Maaku, but is in the running. Death: Potentially an excellent choice. Tae is clearly knowledgeable, brave, and kind, but not to excess. Being a doctor seems to fit in with Proficiency. Charm is a matter of opinion and potentially her weakness. Temperance: Judging from her maid visits so far, Kawakami is not particularly high in Proficiency. Also teachers should not date students. Devil. Ohya is totally lacking in Charm ("I'm secretly dating this high schooler!"). Also her confidant abilities suck. Tower: Is a child. Next. Star: Hifumi is possibly max knowledge, and otherwise falls nicely into the great but not perfect category. Probably low proficiency though. Moon: Is Mishima. Next. Sun: Yoshida is an excellent possibility. He is knowledgeable, kind, charming, and bold but not overwhelmingly so. Proficiency is in some doubt, but as a shady politician he probably has some skills. Mentor relationship makes it a bit questionable though. Judgement: Sae has a distinct lack of Kindness. Bonus points for imagining the interrogation scene though I did not intend to write this much, but based on the evaluations I think Yoshida is the closest match. However, I am disqualifying him because he has too much integrity to take advantage of his position of authority. Therefore my vote is for Hifumi Togo
