I've been recently reminded of a thing I've been wanting to find for a while. I think someone posted the whole chapter in here or in the chat thread back when people posted comics in the chat thread. It was like a modern city setting. There were two guys, smaller one who was the protagonist and bigger one who were being built up to fight eachother by their respective friend groups or gangs or something. Anyway when they actually met to fight they realized they didn't have any problem with each other and they end up talking about the things that caused them to end up in this situation. So the protagonist gives this whole backstory to the big guy and then says "how about you" and the big guy just says "I'm a homo" and the chapter ends with no further elaboration. I thought it was really funny and I wanna read it again.

That kind of winding vertically stacked architecture tickles my brain in a really specific way for some reason. I get really excited whenever I see closed bridges between buildings for instance. I hope we see more of them in the future.

I mean, vivian is calling a meeting of all the major powers, so we can only hope they'll show up again soon, since they rule.

I still love that the series started out as a relatively goofy lighthearted adventure and royalty series and took an insanely hard turn into exceptional grim brutality. Like the danger and brutal violence was always there but it looked like at the start to be the adventures of vivian as she putzed around sneaking out of Miteria to adventure and stuff. But then the titansUmpa attacked

Also kinda hope the lizardmen race from the first chapter show up again, they seemed cool. Like you get this "bestial lizardmen" feel and then the one is like "come with me if you want to live" before immediately getting bodied by the Umpa, and fighting to save Vivian before saying some heartbreaking words before dying.

I'm pretty sure the "I'm a homo" *record scratch* gag is in one of the stories on Katsuhiro Otomo's Sayonara Nippon which is set mostly in New York and stars a karate teacher from Japan trying to live his life? I remember liking the collection a lot, should probably read it again soon.

It looks like there are going to be more frequent chapter releases for Shiori Experience going into the future. Hopefully that means more than one chapter every 6 months. And our Resident musical stand user is eventually going to run afoul the true villain of this story; Mafia-style Producer who wants to put together the greatest band ever at any cost

Because I dislocated my knee and haven't been at work I've been spending time reading random poo poo and I stumbled on Gleipnir and I can't help but like it even though it's pretty trash. Just the concept of dude transforms into mech and girl goes inside him cause he's a pussy and she fights by wearing him is dumb and weird enough to make me interested, and the actual plot is interesting. It's also basically porn though cause girls just love being naked in this series. But the action is good? Overall I'd say it's enjoyable trash.

I enjoy Gleipnir but the most recent chapters have just been weird for me. Feels like we became a different story and even the cast has largely changed. It also doesn't help that now I'm trying to parse things through spanish because the english translators dropped it out of boredom.

I am not sure what genre thread it would belong in, but a new chapter of The Knight of Flowers, Dakini dropped. I really love the design of the Anomalocaris beetle, and totally agree with the author(who has some great author's notes at the end of the chapter) that the Anomalocaris is one of the coolest extinct animals.

Ohh hey, same person that did Pandemonium - Wizard Village which is also a pretty great short manga series.

Speaking of Flower Knight; he creator successfully ran a kickstarter to get 6 of the chapters translated to english and I think he also intends to use the funds to get the 7th and 8th chapters translated as well.

Given how reluctant this series is to kill off named characters, I'm suspecting some sort of fake-out, although I'm not exactly sure how. It seems like it would be beyond Light Snow's capabilities to fake. Maybe the Book will bring him back to life in exchange for bringing Gogol back to life?

Trail of Blood has been a pretty realistic depiction of how a middle schooler would react to the trauma of all this hosed up poo poo.

edit: It's a pretty interesting sort of horror to have the protagonist effectively restricted by his age and immaturity (in the sense that he's not in a physical or emotional state where he can directly resist or confront what's going on). If he were a few years older, he would technically have the option of distancing himself from home more, but he's still a bit too young to do even that.

I think the most unrealistic part is probably the girl who is somehow a saint of a 13 year old (or however old they are) who has no issues with this guy spazzing out. Then again, teenagers in general are spazzes so maybe it's not that strange for one to overlook this sort of thing.

vvv Having read straight through the last 10 or so chapters, the "incapable of talking" phase probably felt much shorter to me than it does if it's being read week to week.

Trail of Blood is great in how lowkey the premise is for a horror story, but it packs a real punch. Maybe for the first time ever a MC will seek healing not from friendship or magical artifacts, but a honest to god psychiatrist.
