I feel like an opportunity is being lost by not hosting a deep web honeypot site that hosts "Hillary Child Porn" that just happens to phone the FBI when a downloaded file is opened. At the same time, the idiots will probably hit all of the real FBI honeypots themselves, so, maybe that problem will solve itself.

There's something more insane to me about imagining real people are doing these unimaginable things. Alien abductions are just a monster myth like we've had since the beginning of time

in true alt-right fashion they've done so incompetently and tried to assign the fancy name beforehand instead of after the fact so they just perpetually look dumb as gently caress

As a corollary to this, that the world's rich and powerful elites are all shapeshifting reptilian aliens. It's this melange of anti-Semitism, UFOs, government cover-ups, etc. that becomes this weird metaconspiracy that covers all other conspiracies.

Or that Bigfoot is an interdimemsional being and the reason that no one captures or kills one is because they're robots sent to explore our dimension and if they get hurt or whatever, they just go back to their original dimension. That one's pretty whackadoo as well.

For a lot of right-wingers, the greatest joy in life is domination- not the state of having dominance or privilege, but literally the act of hurting and controlling somebody. Much of the appeal of q anon bullshit is the same as the appeal of Donald Trump's rallies where he'd talk big and abusively toward people and groups who, to the right, think they're bigger than their place. When Trump says something grandiosely racist, abusive, and violent about such a person or group, they get a little hit of that sensation- they get the vicarious thrill of punching somebody who offends them by defying them in the face, of putting them in their place. Similarly, everybody the q dorks think is involved in the conspiracy is people right-wingers don't like- Hollywood elites, the liberal media, Democratic politicians. By believing in The Storm, they can experience the thrill of those people being put in their place.

The Hillary Clinton angle, well, these people have hated her for over a quarter century. She's a liberal woman who thinks she's better than you. She thinks she should control your healthcare. She thinks she's better than women who are homemakers. And that's just the stuff that they've exaggerated from facts-they've made up so many lies to tell each other about her, all believed because it feels good to believe, because it affirms how they already feel and justifies what they want to do. She is so very much of what they hate, and this is a group that likes to identify enemies and obsess over them. The only reason any of these fucks know who George Soros is is because he contributed a bunch of money to try and get Dubya voted out in 2004, and they've spun that fact into a massive conspiracy about George Soros being the big boss of everything they hate. Hillary Clinton has done a million more things to earn their sick ire, and nothing in this world digs under their skin and drives then out of their minds like the injury of somebody like that going unpunished.

quote:

Choi Tae-min died in 1994, but rumors spread that his daughter continued to exert her cult-based influence over [South Korean President] Park.

“Choi Soon-sil reportedly said North Korea will collapse within two years,” Rep. Woo Sang-ho, floor leader of the Minjoo Party, said Thursday. “She appeared to be a shamanist prophet. If Park was captivated by her prophecy and implemented her foreign and North Korea policies, this is a serious problem.”

Rumors spread further as it was pointed out that Park often used unusual expressions in her speeches, possibly influenced by Choi. Rumors also spread that Choi had established a secret inner circle, named the “Eight Fairies,” to control state affairs. The National Intelligence Service’s logo was abruptly changed earlier this year to depict a dragon, and speculation has spread that it symbolizes the Mi-R Foundation. Mireu is an ancient Korean word for “dragon,” and Choi was accused of using the foundation to strong-arm conglomerates to make massive donations and then embezzling the money.

except this conspiracy turned out to be true, the president of south korea was really relying on shamanistic divination and funneling money to the cult leader and was impeached for it.

Maybe the stuff about Gilles de Rais, the fifteenth century French nobleman who was accused, tried, and executed for supposedly being a sadistic child-killing sexual psycho. That depends on if you think he was guilty of the crimes attribute to him or not, of course.

Which lends itself to an interesting conspiracy theory dynamic in and of itself, in that one could make rational appeals against (merely) noted (as compared to accepted) historical "fact", being that it seems more logical to believe de Rais was a victim of political intrigue or scheming of the era, rather than some weird pathological monster.
