I looked up what that was on wikipedia and found a link to download the game from the page V:shobon:V

If they had done this social stuff when Galaxy came out, people would just say "hey, now it really does everything Steam does but without DRM". Currently, it just seems really badly timed.

I set all my privacy settings to their Steam counterparts, i.e. friends-only, and then I remembered... I got no e-friends on GOG. I think they already had an option to add friends before, but I can't imagine anyone ever bothered since there wasn't a point.

Free coupon?? How can I say no.

Also, might as well, feel free to add me if you want: https://www.gog.com/u/Saoshyant

On a completely unrelated subject, I just noticed that at some point in March, GOG added Softporn Adventure to my profile for free. That made me chuckle. Did anyone else get that, too?

Is that it? I bought like three Larry games back in 2014. What a weird bonus to thrown in four years later.

Anyway, I think people only remember this one because of half-naked Roberta Williams in the cover and not for any of the game's own merits.

And speaking of, it appears the actual game is a collectible item these days? I just found some news article about a copy selling for over 800 trump dollars in 2011. I imagine it's even worse now that the retro bubble got so absurd in the last few years.

The Larry Bundle always included Softporn Adventure, it just popped up as NEW in everyone's lists for some reason. Maybe it was just listed as a bonus under Larry 1?

I remember exactly what it was; It was when GoG broke up the bundles into individual titles in your library. Before that, it would've just been an extra in the downloads list for the Bundle.

I have a copy I got off eBay and made an ISO. It works on Windows 10 but make sure you install directx9 manually and set compatibility with Windows 2000 or XP (that's what I do at least so YMMV).

Great.

Well shoot, they did it again, Star Wars Racer, another old game that comes up now and then as "why the hell don't they have it?" is now on GOG. The GOG community will have to wait a week or so before bitching about Galaxy and the prevalence of indie games again.

Not surprised, given the reputation the PC version of the game has. First round of buyers of this kinda thing are beta testers. Hell, GOG should advertise stuff like this as paid beta before plastering it all over the front page and corral nostalgic impulse buyers into beta testers and evangelists.

The review page is, of course, already filled with worthless five star reviews.

I still have the N64 game, might fire that li'l thing up today for the first time in fifteen years.

doctorfrog

Great.

Having lots of reviews that trend high make the service and product look popular.

So I go to Steam to see reviews and it's like doing my taxes, all dropdowns and graphs and content boxes, and the signature line is "shot my doge with a hot dog lol 10/10 would play again."

So wait, was the PC port of Podracer bad compared to the N64 version or something? Or is it that this will be like when Rogue Squadron came out and remapping buttons was such a huge pain in the rear end?

I couldn't get it to recognize my steam controller, but I plugged in my old wired 360 controller and remapping was a cinch.

The manger babies don't have feelings. You said it yourself.
N64: No crashes, Bad Framerate, Low Resolution, Blurry Textures, no loading times, has music.

Dreamcast: Better resolution, better textures, better frame rate, no music, long loading times.

PC: Best resolution, best textures, best frame rate, has music, shorter loading times than DC, crashed a lot when new.

Now all we need is the Episode I platformer/third person shooter.
