E-it was Sabbath Assembly not Blood Ceremony. What a great two nights of that festival- Revenge, Gonkulator, Blood Incantation, Sabbath Assembly, Spectral Voice, Bombers, Malthusian, Blood Tsunami, Studfaust, Bell Witch, Luminous Vault. Was that at whatever that black metal fest St. Vitus had a few years back? I remember seeing them there and pretty much the same thing you described about whipping the dude in the crowd.

It wasn’t the all black metal fest, I forget what that’s called. It was Martyrdoom 2015. I wish they’d bring it back, that was so good. That’s the only time I’ve seen Pink Mass but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do that whipping thing a lot. They were fun.

Yeah, I was just referring to the Pink Mass thing being at Martyrdoom 2015. My buddy and I were mostly interested in seeing Nightbringer but they dropped off, but since we had tickets we went for the start of the show anyway and saw them. We went to the Yob show instead of sticking around for the rest of the it, but Pink Mass was certainly memorable.

They’re one of my favorites. Basically what a thrash metal band fronted by Frieza would sound like. Owns. Sad they broke up but the dude seems like he has big plans moving forward so that’s nice.

Hopefully the guy can keep cranking out good music with a new lineup.

Like, from what I've heard, Swashbuckle is just straight-up standard thrash metal and yet they get lumped in with Alestorm just because of the superficial pirate schtick. I can kinda accept Alestorm being called "pirate metal" just to play along with their gimmick, and because a lot of their songs honestly do kinda sound like sea shanties, but until there are plenty of bands who do the same kinda thing, I refuse to acknowledge it as an actual genre. dmboogie posted:this song is close i guess This album has like three songs with a general nautical theme to them.
