She didn't have it removed. It sounds like she had it partially separated from where it connects to her skeleton so that the implant wound fit underneath. Apparently losing chest strength isn't uncommon in women who get implants under the muscle. Interestingly, a lot of women studied in the research in the article had gains to their bench if they got implants over the pec and under the actual fatty tissue of their boobs.
